Congrats! Now just wait till he gets to be around 5. My son from age 5 on has loved star wars, now at 11 he has quite a collection of ships for the game and is a very good player.

Be advised, infants and toddlers roll about 12 attack dice and atack in a 360 arc. They also have an upgrade card "unstoppable" when one of your ships is seized by this pilot, it is immediately and irreversably destroyed. remove this ship from your collection and order a replacement."

And no, you don't get to roll evade dice against toddlerblaster either.

Congrats man! Prepare for your life to change.... completely!

Fortunately for you, it will be a relatively slow change. Babies are generally quiet enough and sleep alot, so you can still go out to dinner, or still play a video game or two.... but as they grow they'll consume more and more of your time. They ease you in, and capture your heart.

One tip: Don't be worried if you don't feel "connected" right away. It is normal. When my sons were born it was amazing, but I felt a little guilty because I expected to feel differently.... like.... I loved them for sure, but I didn't think I loved them as much as I "should" have.... It is strange knowing that the world has these expectation of exactly how a new parent is supposed to feel, and you may feel quite differently. Don't worry about it. You'll grow into it. My 2nd son I didn't truly fall in love with until he was 2 years old! It takes time but it gets better and better the more you invest. Grats again!

I have two older daughters and two younger sons. With each set I thought upon the birth of the second of the same gender and thought that I could not possibly love this second child as much as the first. It does not take long at all to figure out you have an infinite capability to love.
