I have to ask because I hear this a lot: Threepio + Falcon can give you three evades per turn.
C-3po - "Once per round, before you roll 1 or more defense dice, you may guess aloud a number of [Evade] results. If you roll that many [Evade] results (before modifying dice), add 1 [Evade] result."
The way I am reading this is that you can use Threepio for ONE attack per turn, which is pretty clear.
The YT-1300 has 1 defense die. So once per turn you guess ZERO [Evade] results (which is what seems to be the common consensus).
You roll your 1 defense dice against the attack and get a [blank] result, so Threepio kicks in because you guessed correct and instead of a [blank], you add 1 [Evade] result to the 0 [Evades] that you naturally rolled.
Coupled with spending your action for the turn to use the Falcon title to gain 1 Evade token, that will give you a maximum of TWO evade for ONE attack.
If on that attack that you use Threepio you happen to roll a [Focus] result instead of a [blank] result, Threepio will still give you 1 [Evade] result because you still rolled 0 [Evade] on your 1 natural die.
However, if you had PTL onboard and Push'd (or received one from another source) a Focus token as well for that turn, you could use it to turn that [Focus] result into an additional [Evade], thus giving you the fabled 3 Evades for that ONE attack - because C-3PO allows you to modify your dice after his ability kicks in.
From what I am reading in people's comments on the Forums, it seems to me that there are many who are using C-3PO to roll the 1 die that the YT-1300 naturally rolls, counting any [Evade] results, PLUS rolling another die for C-3PO and counting any [Evade] results they gain by guessing 0 (plus 1 more if they happen to have a Focus token to turn a [Focus] result into another Evade).
The way I read the C-3PO card is that you roll your natural dice for the ship he is on (most often the YT-1300), you guess 0 [Evade] results and roll a natural [Evade] on the 1 die that the YT-1300 gets. Threepio does NOT work and you only get the one natural Evade on the attack. Two, if you used your action to get a Evade token from the Falcon title, or possibly three if you also happen to have had a Focus token as well.
Am I C-3PO wrong? If I am not, it seems to me that the "Fat Han" is not an insurmountable mountain may seem to believe he is.
