I will say one thing in my experience about these kind of threads at other communities on other games (Team liquid for example).

This threads allows for safe non judgement rants, which would otherwise collapse the regular forums, or convert the forums more easilly on flame wars.

Having a safe place to vent is fine. So please, the guys who wants to whine about whining, go create your own thread about it. This one should be "The thread to whine about the game". The problem, is that it is very likely that you will get people in this thread to whine about the whiners, or try to get into stupid discussions instead of just rant safely.

FFG should redo the damage deck to suit my particular desire and either force every tournament player to purchase the upgraded deck or send a free deck to everyone who requests one.

I was bored. I like to discuss X-Wing. I was intrigued by an earlier mention of a damage deck. I like the idea of exploring the "design space" of X-Wing. I love what they've done with new expansions (white 4-k, cloak/ecloak, space debris, S-turn), basically challenging the core mechanics. I wanted to talk about other out-of-the-box mechanics that could be included in the game just by changing a ****ing damage deck. How is that whining? Is my English that bad or are you just thick?

There aren't 10 ****ing threads on new damage decks, there was just one HYPOTHETICAL discussion. If you didn't like it, you could have abstained from joining it.

Sorry, but the both of you coming in here and calling me out on whining was a bit much, I took it personally, even if it was tongue in cheek. I was only trying to have a discussion. Sorry, chilligan, I meant nothing personal. We se a lot of threads about how players want FFG to change the game. Some themes come up often, and the damage deck is one of them. You didn't know that and just wanted to have fun tossing around ideas. Again, didn't mean to make you feel bad.

Here's my gripe:
Many people are too quick to assume that any criticism of the game is over-the-top hyperbole and/or are too defensive about the game. Whenever someone expresses a concern over balance or the direction of the game, there's always a crowd that responds with insults and snark, regardless of the circumstances.

I understand that some people who complain are over-the-top, but that doesn't mean everyone is. And disagreement over an issue is not a free ticket to act disrespectful. If you think your perspective is right, it's not hard to communicate it without sounding like a ****. Good riddance.
