2x Rookie pilots
2x Gold squad
1x Blue wing.
Was thinking this would be a basic list that might be ok to run on some regionals or justto have fun with. What do you all think?

I think it has no pilot skill and lacks agility, but it could do well if you could still outthink your opponent. It's a no frills list, to be sure. If you have a Z-95 I'd switch out one of the Golds and boost up to at least one named pilot or some astromechs or something.
Sounds good and yea the idea was to be kind of basic and straight forward. Thanks for your advice.
My pleasure! I thought since the Y-Wing has weak firepower anyway you could sub one in for the Z without it being much of a loss. :3
Here's an idea for a Tanky rebel build: 4 golds with ICT and R7 Astros. Could be a real pain to burn down that much Hull and shields with R7 messing with the attack dice. Might take forever to kill anything though.

This had some popularity during wave 3, and I believe made its way into the Top 16 of Worlds 2013. The wave 4 version is BXXZZZ, i.e. replace the 2 Y-wings with 3 Z95s. 3 Z's have better durability and firepower than 2 Y's.

I've flown both versions of the Rebel swarm and I much prefer the BXXZZZ over the BXXYY. It worked very well for me in this past summer's regionals. Big ships wither under the firepower you can bring even after losing a ship. Six firing arcs means you should be able to catch Phantoms as well, although it's not the ideal matchup. Having all your ships move at the same pilot skill also lets you get away with some fancy flying.
Could try 3 blues and 2 proto A's with the refit
Leaves 4pts for flavour
Or drop the blues for rookies so 7pts for flavour
Y-wings are great but need a turret or at the minimum R2 so they can at least try and dogfight
Hey thanks for the ideas, now have some things to think about.
