Do you drink and fly at the table?

Food and drink at the table? Discuss.

For me drink yes, food no.

I drink Colt 45 whenever Lando is in a list and I have a large supply of various Imperial Stouts in the beer fridge, which tends to ruin my judgement and list building.

No dry Kessel runs here.

The store I play league at is also a pub. So yeah as long as I can walk home.

Yes, a great Colt 45 reference, so smooth.

No, I have no problem playing at home and having a few pints while living out a pure geeky fan boy fantasy of flying cool little space ships. At the FLGS, no, it is the owners rules, his place, so, I comply.

Good Lord Yes! Usually Xtra Special Deadguy or Cavatica stout.

Good Lord No!!! Never colt ... Or any other "domestic" crap.

You have the wrong FLGS!

(I mean, yeah, you have to live near Portland, but...game store + beers on tap and bottled? YES, PLEASE! :D )

Hell yes! On a particularly hot summer day, my friend and I polished off nine beers each over the course of a three hour gaming session.

Yes

At every opportunity.

My local FLGS also serves a good beer selection. It just wouldn't feel right to use their tables for several hours and not buy a pint or two.

Oh, man, that reminds me of a few games of Panzer Grenadier a few friends and I played, with a bottle of Laphroaig 15-year, and...

Actually, no, I don't remember much about those games.

Great times, though! :D

I only play at my house so I do drink a little. No food at game table though unless it's pretzels or something. I'm not a big fan of grease or cheetos on my minis.

Imperial Stouts are amazing, malt liquor is for plebs and homeless people.

I try to avoid drinks at the table, one rouge slurpee is very capable of killing many a game. Lost half a dozen GEV tokens that way.

Don't buy the rouge one, then.

Ush. I don't know how much it'll hurt my Xwing game play, but when I try playing Starcraft with a drink, my ability goes down about 20 percentile.

Some day I will get the handle on my dyslexia till that day, I will use my protractor to mesure angels, and be robed by rouge whiches.

Spell checkers help, but they only help so much.

We often play at the local pub.

So yeah we drink while we play but if it looks like its going to be a long night stuff gets packed away before anyone can accidentally wreck anything

Some drinks yeah, but not nearly as much as playing Blood Bowl.

i know that one. I used to have *very* good written skills until i broke my back in the army. These day while its been fixed i'm still in a lot of pain so take a really strong painkiller called 'oxycontin'. It makes your mind 'wander' a bit so i'm always finding i've written the wrong sort of 'to, too or two' or the form instead of from, or the wrong 'their/there'.

On bad days I can miss out connective words or even entire sentences as my mind is racing and i think i've typed it.

As editor on a magazine its a real PITA. When i can I get the wife to second proof read my articles for the mag before letting the sub editor see it!

So yeah I can appreciate it is a problem that a spellchecker can't always help with.

Then again sometimes that works in my favour. I collect 'rogue trader' era 40k figures that are quite collectable and can go for a lot of money in some cases... searching for 'rouge trader' means i find listings with no one bidding on them put up by people in a hurry or with the same issue as we have :)

I find after my third pint i can make critical errors like setting by bank move to the wrong side as i've forgot to orientate the ship in my head, or using the wrong dial.

Playing pool or snooker however I get *better* after the second pint but it goes apidly downhill after the fourth.

The optimum level of 'drunk' is about two and half pints... see here...

Look, that X-wing's doing left and right banks over and over rather than flying straight...

I like to drink and play games - both together ;-)

My friends and I truly make this a beer and pretzel game when we play at home.

Theres a boardgame parlour down the road from me that has the X-Wing Core Set and has beer and wine on tap, but unfortunately they won't let you bring your own games in.

My buddy and I meet up every Sunday for games and we play on his board (or the one I bring) but we usually get in 4 games with dinner in between.

We have thus far dedicated different nights to one of the following:

-A fifth of Jager for shots each time we lost a ship while retaining an alcoholic beverage on the side during the games.

-Butterscotch Schnapps and mixed copious amounts of that with root beer to make butterbeer one evening when his wife and kids were watching Harry Potter movies in the other room.

-Whiskey for shots and whiskey sours.

-Dragonsmilk beer. That stuff is strong.

And lemonade. Just regular lemonade. Because it was delectable.

:)
