Basically I'm super excited to get a decimator and I haven't really flown the defender too much.

Would these get stomped? Probably not a tournament list but could be fun anyway.

How I build Oicunn is like this:

I find that Rexler with Predator is worth his weight in gold already, no need to gild the lilly. With Oicunn decked out this way you can bump twice, then drop your bomb the next turn and force them to fly through it. If you want you can drop Mara and the charges for other things, but that's how I run him.

I've played one game (and lost) against a decimator + defender build. I had some bad shots early on that didn't kill the decimator fast enough or I might have won. It's certainly doable, however I feel that two ships lists of either faction where one ship is small are pressing your luck.

In my experience there's no such thing as luck.

Just kidding. The dice are usually nice to me though.

But Brath + Fleet Officer = goodness. However, I would try to at least get a Gunner on the Decimator to allow for a little more offense. The Decimator will be using its action to buff Brath, so the Gunner will at least help provide some hit insurance.

I think a Defender + Decimator list can work. You'll be destroyed by any kind of a swarm, but it really might be a nice counter to Fat Han. Get his shields down and let Brath flip a bunch of crits on him.

Size matters not. Judge the defender by it's size do you? Hmmm. And well you should not, for it's ally is the HLC, and a powerful ally it is.

I wonder if the Decimator could work in a two ship Imperial list. I haven't thought about the Defender much but it should work as it is also a tough little ship. A thing there is when I think "Defender" I also think about having a Firespray in that same spot. The more interesting two ship list is pairing the Decimator with the Phantom as you get two very different ships. I think the only other possibly for a two ship list, besides two Decimators, is a souped up Interceptor but at the max that is just 36-37 points.

I'd rather run:

Every turn, RAdm exposes and TLs and Vessery boosts/barrel rolls/focuses as necessary. With the VI, he can then shoot before RAdm to take advantage of his ability.

Both are bringing a lot of firepower in this list and both should be able to get shots off every turn while arc dodging.
