I think ive found two uses for expose the first would be a phantom up close when you jus want to deal a ton of damage but for the points its pretty silly, and the second would be gemmer in the new rebel aces, with expose at range one you wouldn't lose an agility coz of pilot effect and ud get plus two attack ud need a wing test pilot to do tht of corse
what does everyone else think?

Seriously, yeah i mean i've never found a place for 'expose' in my lists after bad experiences with it early on. I cant see my changing my mind on that.
I think the usual complaints about Expose focus on the fact that it takes up an action that would be better spent on either focus or target lock. The cost and the lost agility just serve to add insult to injury.
Problem with expose on a phantom is your just rolling raw dice which means each dice has a 50% chance to deal damage, if you TL or focus each dice has a 75% chance to deal damage.
I'm crap at maths but even I know focus is the better bet.
Expose is really only useful with PtL, and 1 of the Decimator pilots (can't remember which one)

It'll work with any of the decimator pilots it's just not necessarily the best on them all.

Experimental interface let's you do an action then use an ept with the word action on it at the cost of getting stressed, the dials decent enough for shedding the stress so the decimator seems well suited to expose because it has no agility anyway.
I've liked expose on darth vader. Essentially it turns it into ps 9 xwing pilot who costs as much as wedge who can turtle with focus/evade plus 3 agility when needed.

So that would boil down to being able to gain +1 attack in exchange for gaining a point of stress... not too shabby I guess.
The main drawback I see for this combo is the 7pt price tag attached to it. That said, people pay the same cost for a HLC, which is limited to a single arc, downgrades crits to hits, and can't fire at range 1 (as opposed to this which goes up to 5 attack dice), so it may just be worth it!
Edit: OK, I'm converted: On Rear Admiral Chiraneau you don't even need the Experimental Interface, as his special ability will act in place of needing a focus token anyway. I definitely can't wait for the Decimator to arrive now
Expose works well with Keyan Farlander too. For the cost of an HLC, you can have Expose+Experimental Interface, which in this case also feeds you the stress tokens to power up his pilot ability. There are a few other considerations, but I think Expose+EI is pretty competitive there.
As others have said, the main issue with Expose is that the focus action is usually as good or nearly as good at doing damage, to say nothing of the drawbacks on Expose, point cost, or flexibility of the focus action. Experimental Interface, however, lets the Expose user spend its own actions to modify dice, vastly improving performance. It also makes it easier to get the full TL+focus combo off.
Good uses for Expose:

Expose does lower average damage than the focus action, takes your action and makes you easier to swat. It costs 4 points which is one more than good EPTs like Predator, and is worse than the default actions on your action bar.
With the exception maybe of Decimator Experimental Interface Expose, Expose is never worth it. The only conceivable advantage of it I can see is your opponent assuming you're very new when they see you using it and underestimating you.
Once the decimator arrives I'm sure we'll all be exposing ourselves.

I still like Opportunist better on Keyan, but you have to build a squad around triggering it. All higher PS pilots than Keyan. Expose + EI would be more reliable to get a 4 - 5 attack dice TL + Focus attack. However, Keyan is going to be primary target # 1 in any build. I don't see it wise to lower his defense even more.
Expose + EI is interesting on a couple ships...
I have seen it used on Han with C3PO, since you get to re-roll the attack with his ability. Once or twice on a phantom, but that's it.

34 points - you can happily run focus + evade until you get something in your sights, and then run Focus + Target Lock + expose to pretty much guarantee 4 hits at range 1.
It makes for a very versatile ship.... that still dies to P+S9 Whipser, but is otherwise a lot of fun.
I have had decent success with Expose on Vader, like said before, it essentially turns him in to a slightly more defensible X-Wing. I hadn't thought about putting it on a Phantom before, but now that I think of it, that might work on a Buzzsaw Phantom. Expose by itself is fairly worthless, but if Gunner and FCS trigger than you're getting 5 dice with target lock which becomes much more effective. On the downside that is a hell of a lot of points, and it means flying against the meta with no Veteran Instincts on that glass cannon Phantom...
What about a Black Squadron Pilot? He's only 14 pts and becomes 17 pts with Expose. Tie fighters are often on the flank and not being shot at. I could see someone taking it on the cheapest Tie that can take an Elite. It's not a bad idea. You can use it whenever you aren't going to be shot at, which can happen in a furball with a Tie Fighter.
Also, you can use Col. Jendon and a Fleet Officer to give the guy a TL and a Focus. So, imagine a Black Squadie who is on the flank and range 1 (which isn't too absurd). Throw on a TL and a Focus to the guy as he Exposes himself. That would be 4 dice with a TL and Focus for only 17 pts + Lambda.

I see why you would want PtL on an Expose ship, but isn't TL+Focus still going to be better than Focus+Expose. I am sure it depends on how many attack dice you already have. I am guessing if you already have a bunch of attack dice then Focus+TL is going to be better.
Expose on the Decimator seems tempting, because you already have 0 agility, but it doesn't address the issue of having to spend an action on the expose. I don't know if any of the Decimators will have access to EPT, but you could conceavebly put a PtL and Expose, but wait... Expose is a EPT already, so even if it would be a good thing (which I doubt) you can't do it.
I really can't think of very many sitruations where taking Preditor (or perhaps outmanuver) wouldn't be better than Expose for 1 point more.

I would still prefer Daredevil instead of expose, especially since this Tycho is going to have a million stress on him. He will never get to K-Turn

if you have 2 attack dice (and no action to boost you hits) you gain about .5 average hits by adding a extra dice.
Jumping your 2 attack dice from 50% chance to hit to 75% chance to hit increases you expected number of hits the exact same.
In other words spending your action on focusing increases you chances to hit as much as spending it on expose. But Expose costs you 4 points.
It is also worth pointing out that black squadron costs 2 more points than an Academy TIE. So it is possible that in that situation you really spent 6 points just to get an offensive boost that isn't any better than a focus.
On top of all that it does deduct you agility - This is a pretty terrible cost, but Expose would still be bad without it.
