How many of you are burned out?

Weren't you bumping Ribann's posts in a suspicious way ?

I don't even know who that is tbh.

Ribann is a fellow who has a tendency to post controversial threads and then become sensitive about how people respond to his threads. That seems similar to what is going on here. A more suspicious person than I (DreadStar) might come to the conclusion that you are one and the same.

Curiouser and curiouser.

He was bumping threads about how WonderWaaagh never accepted Ribann's vassal requests.

This is why I.P. bans are baller as f*ck.

It's really not hard to tell Jango is Ribann. Ribann was issued a banning in August and suddenly Jango Joins the forums. Ribann ban is lifted late August and Jango goes silent. Sept 5th was the last day Ribann's account was active and Jango is back. I have had Ribann's account block since before his first banning and he'll remain there indefinitely. Jango, will now join my short list ignored members.

This while thread makes me and the guys I play with care fark all about this "meta" you all speak of.

Everything is fun.

And if you don't play with a wide set of people, then the only meta you would concern yourself with is that of your own group.

Shrug

There's always a few guys who come and go. I see far more variety in my group than the lists I constantly see everyone on here complain about...we rarely play the same list twice and aren't hyper competitive...hell I don't think any of us are really competitive at all. And we are all happier for it. The meta on here is derived from net lists and what ever won throat.recent tourney.

There is no variety there which what so many complain about.

It's about the game ... Not the win. that's why this while "meta" constantly described here is pointless to me.

Man, the stalking skills in this forums... i should just stop posting before my nudes on the beach make their way into this thread.

Actually, I was just trying to find an older post he made on the forums. I remembered that in the midst of all his vassal talk he mentioned something about another handle, one that had something to do with clones. I just couldn't remember what it was, and ended up stumbling across that site on accident. I think your nudes are safe... for the time being. ;)

Okay, well good.

At the same time, that doesn't mean that 'the meta' doesn't exist. I was also relatively unconcerned, as I was not seeing it at my FLGS, until I attended the most recent store tournament. Yup, there they were - Fat Falcons and named Phantoms. (Oh, and I got creamed... by the Falcon, after my list was more aimed at the Phantom. sigh.gif)

So, be happy, but the rest of us have an interest in worrying about it.

I'm not one to jump to conclusions, but I did find this:

Hehe, are you sure you don't have at least a 'working theory'?

Good catch, DreadStar.

What can I say? I hear a quack, and I think 'duck.'

I really hope Jango isn't Ribann. I had PM'd Ribann and was optimistic he was going to improve his forum behavior. Would be greatly disappointed to find out he not only hasn't learned, but is merely hiding his identity.

Edit: Of course, I withhold judgment until there's a preponderance of evidence.

Legos are all about rebuilding and redesigning. One time, I combined two of my custom speeder bike models to make an even better one. ;)

I get the feeling that most of us aren't burned out, but rather impatiently waiting for the new waves to arrive already.

I myself am not burned but I am waiting for Rebel Aces to finally arrive and to find some Y-wings that aren't two times retail value. Until then I eill run what I have the best I can and experiment with different builds.

Perhaps if OP is burned out, then he/she should stop posting in this forum and go play something else?

As a response to the title: no I'm not burned out, I'm just getting started! The Empire, Defender of order, shall rise from the ashes once more and be the Decimation of the Rebellion, as well as crush any Vipers of the Stars that make our citizens Scyk with fright. Our Phantom agents shall Intercept the Aggressors that Fight our system of justice.

No lie, m8

Honestly it's just a coincidence.

If you want to think I'm this Ribann guy, you are entirely welcome. Doesn't Ribann still post?

Aaaand there it is.

Guys, he's not even trying to hide it at this point. Let him continue his trolling antics in silence, and let's all move on. If you have a mind to, report him here and let the mods sort it out.

And as to the whole Jango is Ribann thing; it wouldn't surprise me, but I won't say for sure until I've seen more from him. If he is, by trying to prove it we are just feeding the troll; if not, we are just annoying the dude.

Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

...What do you mean "used to be!?"

I'm not quite burnt out however I really dislike the way ffg has failed to balance this game with the obvious issues with certain upgrade cards and builds. Fat falcons builds are only going to get worse with aces release and won't see it die down until wave 6 swarms. I rather see a well flown swarm threaten the meta then a falcon build which requires much less skill to play:

Oops, wrong thread.

Whenever I hear about people getting burnt out on the game due to the meta, it's always due to competitive play. The game is taken to it's highest peaks of competitive play and you lose the joy in the game. It's just not fun after a while. I've always found that there are two things you can do.

1) take a break from the game. Play something else for a while. Do video games or hike or visit with your Mom. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you. Anything to get away from it for a bit.

2) Play the game, but a lot less seriously. Have you ever played scenarios? They what? You know, the ones in the book? Or all the other books? Or even on the new Missions site? How about playing different missions with non optimal builds? What if you played games where no one was allowed to take a named pilot and no named droids? Have you ever done that? Just play the game in a lot light hearted and less cut throat way. It can show you the joy when you try to play the same game in a whole different way. I've even found you come back to the serious part of the game with some fresh ideas, too.

If you are interested in a campaign, I wrote the Erasmus Campaign. They are on the Missions website. There are 4 missions with different levels of points. There are only a few named pilots. Check it out and try to just have fun with the game.
