We'll be seeing Rebel Aces hitting stores soon. Here's my take on the expansion and how I plan on using them.
Are you excited about Rebel Aces?
Will you be using any particular pilots or cards?
Do you think this is going to change the meta much?

well, to state the obvious, we will be seeing a lot of Farlander. I think Nera may be a good anti phantom platform as well. Time will tell.
Nera Dantels and the Chardaan Refit are the two big changes to the game that I think will the meta the most. Keyan and B-Wing/E-2 will be interesting and may see some play as well.
Enhanced Scopes might be a sneaky little upgrade will be interesting to see on the table.

Nera has a cool ability but she requires a lot of points to take advantage of it. Torpedoes cost a pretty penny and the single use makes them unappealing to many players. Munitions Failsafe just prevents other modifications from being used. A lot of point investment for a couple 360 torpedoes at PS 5.
Well, Flechette torpedoes on Nera will likely be huge. The ability to essentially Tactician someone in a 360 degree, full range radius without fail twice a match will be quite powerful, especially when combined with ICTs or Ion Cannons. Phantoms beware.
Other than that, I don't really care about RA. I don't fly them, and the only card in it i could likely make use of is Proton Rockets… and I'm not gonna spend 40 dollars on a rocket.
Oh, and also we'll likely be seeing more use of Outmaneuver, as it will be particularly effective against the new B-Wings.
Edited by That One GuyI've been looking forward to this set for so long that I've nearly forgotten what's in it. Seriously though I really like the A-wing and hope this makes me want to take them more often. There are many options between new pilots, refit, and test pilot...I really hope we have these in hand by the end of the month.
Finally a reason to run an A wing.
Finally a reason to run an A wing.
I haven't been paying attention to Rebel do I hadn't realized how underwhelmed people had felt about the A wing. I hope this breathes new life in it.
Are 2 attack ships sort of off putting?
I'm excited to try Nera w/ VI, FCS, FTorps x2, and Munitions FS (35pts) so much good stress generation!
The only reason we aren't more excited for Rebel Aces is because so much content for what is coming after it has already been released. I for one am ready to get it and mix it up, I don't proxy anything and only play what I have so new stuff is always welcome, and the delay has actually be welcome. It's just a shame that so much is spoiled so far in advance that by the time it is available it is already old news.
All of the above and I'm also looking forward to the E2 upgrade for my Bs and trying the proton rockets out.
I'm pretending that you're cosplaying as Ysanne Isard in this video.
I'm about 3 minutes into this video, so maybe you talk about this later on, but as a fellow Imperial, a solid reason to get 1 or 2 Aces packs is... Proton Rockets. Every time I run a Defender or Advanced, I'll be taking a _very_ hard look at those.
I am excited to use A-Wings again. I switch over to Imperials for some flanking fun, but now that I can get functional A-Wings, here I come with some zoom and boom.
Buzzsaw BWings just seem unfair, but I am okay with unfair.
Oh and now I will bring out Vader again, Proton Rockets down the field. Maybe Imperials one more time.
I am excited.

2 attacks on a ship only marginally more survivable than a Tie Fighter but significantly more expensive than one. And no Howlrunner. Also there haven't been very many good missiles, so using the A-Wing as a missile platform has struck many as ill-advised. The Caardan Refit goes a long way to making up for that. Throw in the Proton Rockets, and the A-Wing is looking _solid_.
I'm thinking about Proton Rockets and Outmaneuver on Vader. Still debating on whether or not I'd be better off getting Aces or the YT-2400 for the rockets though.
I must be weird, I don't think Nera is that expensive, unless I'm sticking an APT on her.
I think I am most excited for this ship build:
Green Squadron Pilot + Chardaan Refit + A-Wing Test Pilot + Outmaneuver + Predator/Lone Wolf(when it arrives)
At 23 points that is going to be a pretty darn efficient ship. I look at it as the Rebels version of a souped-up Black Squadron + Predator. The BSP has been a champ in my Imperial list for its quiet efficiency. It is low enough in cost for ships not to focus heavily on it, but the Predator reroll really helps it produce pretty steady damage. The SuperGreen (as I have titled it), will function very much the same way, but with a better dial. I think anytime I have 23 points left in a Rebel build this ship set-up will pretty much be an automatic include for me.

I guess if you Get flechettes and Munitions Failsafe she's only 31 points, true.
There's quite a lot of things I'm looking forward to in this release.
Cheap and double EPT A-Wings are the big attraction for me. Chaardan Refit and Prototype Veteran could have a big impact on the game. At last we can arc dodge like the Empire. At last we will have our revenge.
Beastly Keyan Farlander/Advance Sensors builds will be a lot of fun too - although he's expensive, and won't survive much longer than a standard B-Wing under fire. I'm looking forward to Jake Farrell as well.

I will need more than Proton Rockets to choose an advanced but it helps.
Lol re: Ysanne. Is it because I'm wearing red?

I'll need more than proton rockets in standard play, but in Epic play, Maarek with a Proton Rocket attacking the aft end of a CR-90? Yes please.
I'm also very curious about the Scum card that helps the Advanced. It would be hilarious if suddenly they became beasts and people screamed "OP!"
Imperial wearing red and showing her face? Yup, Ysanne. I almost expected you to start with "Loyal Citizens of the Empire: greetings". ![]()
BTW: your show used a cool idea of building a sample squad to show off the new toys. Can you please include a link to a squad builder for us visual learners?
One of the best right here...

Yes, the red. Although your red hair makes me think more of Mara Jade.

When I'm at my computer for videos, I use this one. When I'm on the go, I use the Squadron Builder found on Google Play.
I'm excited for Keyan Farlander + Stay On Target.
