Developing List: Ball and Chain

I've been thinking about using the Decimator and Lambda together to maximize what they are designed to do.

The Decimator is a 360 Turret Arc Dodger. It likes to run.

The Void Bison likes to chase things and blow them up.

Why not maximize this by having a tanky Decimator and the Shuttle that trails it?

Here are some current Iterations I have and I'll post more later.

This is a 3 ship version of my idea. The Academy adds a blocker to help both the Decimator and Space Manatee to get a little breathing room for their movements. Also the Tie is super cost efficient. We'll see a lot of wingman in these lists, I think wingman and the lambda will play very well together.

This version offers a high PS version of both ships. Specifically this version will get the Alabaster Hippo shot more with Kagi's ability and Tactictian. This isn't a bad thing as Chiraneau is the closer in this list and we want him to live the longest.

This list offers some fun shenanigans Wingman + Yorr makes this list more or less stress free. I like ST-321 and Weapon Engineer as we can pick the two high priority targets first round and have a lock on them.

This might be the most effective version. Build the Decimator to be one, giant ball of kicking ass and have a mobile HLC follow it. Chiraneau does not want to be ignored and is very brutal with predator. Rebel Captive and Ysanne will hopefully keep him alive longer.

I will be working on a Kenkirk version and some Buzzsaw versions but I tend to prefer Dogfighter/Zoom Shuttles for their maneuverability. Also I think a 2 ship list needs the extra red attack dice of the HLC.

Kenkirk is the most survivable Decimator, he needs to be in here.

The only thought on this is to drop wingman and ST-321 and go Predator on Cpt Kirk and tactician on the shuttle.
Stress on the enemy is very helpful for engine turrets.

Rational:

Mara Jade is amazing on any ship that is going to get close to the enemy. In my early tests with her I have been able to pass 8+ stresses in a game.

Moff Jerjerrod lets you know that you won't have to deal with any criticals that you don't wan't to have: blinded pilot, extra stress, etc... for the most part he is not there to remove the double damage crits but he can late game

Daredevil + Dauntless + Oicunn: this is expensive and causes 2 stress (making Yorr mandatory) but is A LOT of fun and really unlocks Oicunn's potential. Why take shots from enemy ships when you can slam into them? Furthermore it should almost double the surface area of his ability per turn.

Yorr: Dauntless and Daredevil as well as the second shuttle generate A LOT of stress. Yorr can deal with a lot of it, especially if he moves last and does a green maneuver (auto stress removal)

Omicron + Vader: good old Doom Shuttle. This has an added twist though that Vader does not need to hit to activate (just target). Oicunn doesn't need to hit anything, just bump. Daredevil on Oicunn doesn't need to roll anything, just bump. In other words, you can do 2 damage and 1 crit on a ship, per turn without having to roll any hits or crits on your dice! Against big rebel ships it doesn't really matter, against something like Soontir Fel it really hurts!

I'm not sure you can target a ship you're bumping with Vader. I'm 95% sure on that. I do like the idea of Oicunn with 2 shuttles. My fear in your build is that Oicunn dies first and he's the best closer.

For sure there needs to be some love given to daredevil and Dauntless.

As with all good lists the forcing of no good options is important. Want to kill the turret? Eat HLC shots. Want to kill the shuttle? late game turret with engine.

Clearly that is an image of an aggressive pursuit beast built only for murder and mayhem. It's why we love them so. :)

Isn't that a Heavy Laser Cannon mounted on him? Those dark eyes hold the soul of a vicious beast.

It's like he's thinking "There's no up in space, so just try to tip me now, f******s!"

Anyway the shuttle is actually a Boss at being a trail ship. Wingman/Advanced sensors allows for perma stop.

This splits the wingman off the Decimator. allowing for more space between them. I think the Decimator is still the clear closer but its a little more tenuous at the lower PS.

I was worried about the Decimator late game. So I downgraded to a Buzzsaw. This allows for rebel captive, an excellent late game card, on the Decimator.

Not sure how good it'll be but it's probably my favorite looking combo to try first. I just don't think I can yt away from a BSP and wingman for Rebel captive. Tempted to drop gunner on the shuttle and advanced sensor it and add captive to Big O.

Rakky I like that. Although I'd do what I could to keep Oicunn alive early and then get him in bowling ball mode late. If he barrels in when the enemy is at full guns you'll have lost your closer ship. Need to get them to shoot the support.

The thing I like about Oicunn is in the late game he's pretty great vs higher PS. Where are they? oh ok i'll just RUN THEM OVER!
