I'll be flying over from Australia, bringing the family for a holiday as well while we are there!

I'm really looking forward to event and am not so concerned with any results. I can't think of much better in X-Wing than meeting and playing against the best players in the world and maybe sharing a couple of stories over some beers at the end of the day's toy fighting! Without making any political statements, I have worked extensively with people from the US and I have nothing but respect for their professionalism, commitment and patriotism. It will be an honour to tour around and see the sights!

I am wondering about accommodation though - can anyone recommend some good options in the area, something along the lines of a 2-3 bedroom apartment ect?

I really wish I could. Living nearby for a semester was great, but I don't think I can spend the money and force someone to cover two days of classes for this. I really envy people who have the freedom to go wherever.

I'm planning on it! Got most of my travel arrangements all set. Hoping the weather is close to last year, where it wasn't freezing until the day after the competition. Used to 90 deg+ weather and all

I probably won't go but at the rate stuff is coming out if a buddy is heading up to Worlds and they happen to have Wave 6 Available I probably would ask them to pick some up for me so I don't have to wait 2-3 months like we are having to with Reb Aces and Wave 5

They usually don't release stuff early at Worlds since it's their own retail store (it's kinda undercutting their retail partners). GenCon is a special deal and all the manufacturers do pre-release products there, but it's not in their own store, so no one minds.

Hmm I only live in Fargo which is about 3 1/2 hours drive away... And I know a lot of people who live in the Twin Cities that I could stay at...

But I don't know if I can pay $40 to get stomped lol. I could use that money on all the new ships that still have to come out! (Or my wedding... )

Booked my tickets and hotel. Will be my first official FFG sanctioned tournament (not counting local FLGS tourneys), so I'm ready to go 0-6!

Staying at the Super 8 across the street from FFG, hope it's not to sketchy.
