The Most Beautiful Rexler Brath Shot I've Ever Made...

By That One Guy, in X-Wing

Wow that's redonk getting to double dip into crits like muntions failure.

Well to be honest it's pretty rare. For starters, you have to land a crit without using your focus token. Then it has to be something that activates and then gets flipped down. Third, you have to be in a position where you can risk using that focus token to flip it again. But yeah, it's hella fun when those circumstances collide.

If it wasn't rare it would be broken as feck, it's great when it happens but it should be a rare event.

My best Rexler shot was against Carnor.

- HLC shot deals 3 hits, focus,

- Use target lock to reroll the focus, get a fourth hit

- Carnor rolls 2 evade, I use my focus, score 2 crits: one reduced his agility by 1 and the other made it so any bumb would inflict 1 damage.

- Next round, Carnor desperately turns to avoid stepping over the edge of the map and get out of Rexler's range... and bumbs a friendly phantom, exploding in the attempt.

Now that was a cool, cinematic end!

Happened earlier today. There were two enemy ships on the board, one was an X-Wing with full health and the other was a Y-Wing with an Ion Cannon Turret and Flechette Torpedoes, against just me with Rexler Brath. After rolling attack and evade dice, 2 hits and 1 crit got through on the Y-Wing. One hit was stopped by the last shield, and the second hit and crit got through to the hull. The crit was Munitions Failure, so naturally my opponent ditched the torpedoes. The crit resolved, the card was flipped face down, and I triggered Brath's ability. Both cards were flipped face up, giving the Y-Wing a stress token and administering the Munitions Failure a second time, destroying his Ion Cannon Turret. Having arc-dodged the X-Wing and destroying the Ion Cannon Turret, no ships were able to fire on me that round. I know that's not the same as say, 3 Direct Hits on what was a full hull falcon, but it was certainly almost artistic in its beauty.

his ability is very good vs Agi 1.

Yeah, when I run him they're usually the ones he's gunning for first. Facing a Gold Squadron list is practically a dream come true. On the few occasions that's happened, I can usually kill at least one of them with just Rexler and never have even stepped into the range of its turret. Early on, I either use the focus tokens to get hit results or save them for defense, only spending them with his ability if I'm going for the kill. It really helps keep you alive when used only when needed.
