Alternative to Push the Limit

By random.brown, in X-Wing

Well, I proxied 4x Ints with 2 PTL, and I'm sold.

My son couldnt get a handle on my in-close hard 2, boost, and barrel roll to re-engage outside of his firing arcs.

A quick trip to the comic shop here in N Denver and I have the Imp Aces set.

I hope FFG realizes how much marketing value these boards have!

Thanks for the advice, everyone!

Just make sure he has no cash to buy a falcon they are still the hard counter to interceptors.

Luckily he has to ask for a ride to the shop...

'oh, the car's been stolen, guess your only turret option is the Moldy Crow...'

I will have to agree with others. Imperial Aces is one of my favorite FFG releases. I'm working on getting a couple more of them.

The Imperial Guard Ties are really cool to play and look at.

I have to admit, I got 4 of them. Had to have all 4 Royal Guard Imperial Ties on the table (with PTL of course). Just looks good.

Fel is the guy that gets focus off of stress right? So what about Fel with the guard title, experimental interface, and stealth device.

Then, for Elite Pilot Talent, take... EXPOSE! Do an action, and if your in a great spot, activate experimental interface and expose for4-5 attack dice, with a focus! You still have 3 agillity to fall back on. You could also switch to targeting computer if you want maximum damage and don't care about 2 agility dice.

So does Carnor's ability prevent a blaster turret from firing, since it requires spending a focus token?

Yes.

Veteran Instincts might be a good alternative. Insure you move last and shoot first, so one action to boost or barrel roll might be all you need.

sure does, i got Carnor behind a HWK by the 2nd turn in tournie this past summer, poor guy could do anything while i obliterated it, espicially after i got a crit on him and asked his deck for the secondary weapon fail, which actually came up. true story:)

Throw in Darth Vader, he don't need push the limits.

At that point, Fel basically turns into a more-fragile Whisper.

Ah I see. What's the points difference between buzzsaw whisper and wannabe whisper (fel). Is this a poor mans phantom basicly? Or is this a phantom in interceptors clothing, where the real phantom is the big shiny distraction while fel lurks in for the kill?

no alternative for PTL on a ship that can dump stress.....

The Red Baron is my go to pilot. I love that feeling of frustration that is palpable from the 3 feet distance across the table when the opponent realizes that for the third turn in a row they can't draw a bead on the ship that is tearing them apart piece by piece like a lone piranha.

"Behind my ship. Again. With a Target Lock and a Focus. -sigh- Next time I'm bringing two Falcons"

hehehehahaha, oh sweet schadenfreude.

Consider Imperial Aces an investment. You'll get tons of mileage out of it if you have any fun/success flying Squints at all.

For something other than PtL? I like Daredevil for Fel. You still get a stress inducing action so get your free focus. Plus doing a hard turn followed immediately by another hard 1 turn is a move nobody is prepared for and works smashingly well if you approach from someone's side at close range. Shoot them broadside one turn and then hard 3 followed by a hard 1 and baste the other side as they fly forward.

Lone Wolf is going to be great with Interceptors when it releases (too bad it's only in the -2400 for now.).

Lone wolf is a unique talent, so you will only ever need one single card.

Soon, the upcoming "Experimental Interface" will add another layer of complexity to the game, by increasing the overall usefulness of all "Action upgrades".

Interceptors benefit especially from it, as they are the only ships that can equip 2 modifications. And since it also give stress, it has the potential of breaking free Soontir Fel from PTL's chains.

I think PTL will still be superior for Fel, because the combination of Boost/Barrel Roll is so strong. There aren't any action EPTs that compare to that basic arc-dodge combo.

Hows about the Interface and Expert Handling? Gives you the barrel roll and nixes a target lock while you're at it!

Pricey and locks you out of Barrel/Boost (you'd have to Boost Barrel) but that does leave your EPT open...

realize noone has this card yet, but how about experirmental interface as an alternative to PTL?

Where am I going to put my engine upgrade? :)

Only allows non actionbar actions.
