No pix yet batteries charging on camera but Blue Angels repaint of x wing coming along nicely and will be picking up a transport tomorrow so I can start a custom inspired by Miss Leviathan.
REPAINTS, CONVERSIONS & SCRATCH BUILD THREAD
Now why did I not think of Blue Angels for a repaint.. awesome idea. Cant wait to see the pics..
I'm an old Navy Brat, even used to know some of the crew and pilots back in the 70s. Those cockpits are roomy for a young kid.. haha
The Blue Angels paint scheme will undoubtedly look great, I can't wait to see your version in X-wing form! Most military inspired themes end up looking pretty cool. I remember a thread from a long time back where someone did WWII fighter squadron paint jobs on his Firesprays that looked awesome.
I've thought of doing some WWI paint schemes, as I play Wings of Glory, but the allied planes were usually plain Janes, and the Germans were colorful as all get out. Doing a few of the flying circus could be fun though on some TIE ships, or shuttles and Firesprays.
If I actually had the skill and patience to paint minis, I would probably have at least one X-wing with the hat in the ring, one dressed as "Shangri La", and one with the camo the F-105 Thuds used in the 60's. I figured out that I lacked the artistic skill for anything other than flat olive drab after I picked up a 1/100 (I think) F-4 to practice on.
I will say for brevity that it was a streaky mess and I gave it a good send off with a few black cats around July last year.
"That's no moon... no wait, it's a moon."
Ok lets see if this works like it is supposed to. Blue Angel X-Wing repaint

Well done!
Very cool! I don't suppose the underside of the s-foils say "REBEL ALLIANCE"?
After acquiring the stencils from Jay Adan (thanks again Jay!) I decided to put them to use on my shuttle. Of course, not using an airbrush I got a little bit of runny paint, but that was fixed very easily with some quick touch-ups.
This was actually something I painted almost over a year ago - so it was nice to revisit it and fix some of the lines and colors and such after I've had more practice. Plus, adding in the Imperial Navy logo to the top fin was a definite must. I can't wait to field this soon. Thinking Kagi with Enhanced Scopes.

Black shuttle is best shuttle.
Lord Vader approves.
For anyone who wants to make their own home made cards, rules etc, this link could be useful
I shouldn't forget to contribute to this thread.
That is amazing. How does it work practicaly within a game?
I mean what do you do if you move would leave you half way up a slope/wall. Fall short?
Or do you treat it like a large ship or HUGE asteroid and you take a hit.
Scum & Villany HWK-290 re-paint
(sorry for the fading light...)
FYI my Firespray-31 here: http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/121449-scum-villainy-firespray-31-re-paint/
Looks good at the mo, im sure it would be even nicer in daylight
hopefully better light
Gadge: I have no idea, I leave that stuff to the commissioner.
I really like the replacement rusty engine.
Its like when you see old cars with a wing or a bonnet in a different shade/colour as its from a scrapyard.
I used to do a similar thing with occasionally painting a part of a 40k robot or tank in 'red oxide' primer as if it had not had time to be properly repainted in chapter colours.

If its not too cheeky, could you ask them if you have chance when speaking to them, i'd really like to know.
My Power Rangers squad. Of course Howlrunner gets the pink TIE.
