I've found in Australia that whilst it certainly is popular, it is everyone's second or third game. So lots of people have it but rarely bring it along to clubs or chose to play in tournaments of X-Wing over other systems. So it's popular for sure, just not player's main focus.

Hi, here in Costa Rica I've played only against one person, my wife too bad it's not popular enough because it's a great game. Probably because it's a bit expensive, people here play more card than miniatures games.

Given we just started getting really active this year and had our first regionals. It's getting really popular here in the Philippines. We are aiming for a nationals next year

I am the oldest of seven, and my wife has a large family as well, so I am steadily indoctrinating a small army in my neck of the woods (the Pacific Northwest of the United States). Other than that, I can't say, but it has become a favorite of at least a few of us, and sees pretty regular play. The fact that you can teach younger kids is a big bonus for us, and I can't wait to teach my own kids when they get a bit older!
