Farlander will still be vulnerable to stress. He can only burn one a turn per his ability so as long as you can land a second one on him he has to do a green to get his target lock on.
Is it possible that three ship rebel build may become population again
I know how useful biggs can be but I feel like he drags me down. After playing some 3 ship rebel builds I would rather be able to split and manuever freely without his hindrance of having to stick with someone.
My last match with a Luke, Wedge and Corran build I was able to slow play wedge behind an asteroid while Luke and Corran out flanked which cost my opponent the match after I one shotted 1 of his 4 ships
I did the same thing with my Biggs, Corran, Wedge list. Wedge deployed alone, which drew in his 5 ships and I just boosted to turn around and run away, they gave chase, allowing Biggs and Corran to flank. Biggs and Corran have the same firepower as Luke and Corran. It was pretty fun right?
To be honest I don't like Biggs (for other reasons) either, but he gives you so many options rather than restrict your movement. If you plan to have him link up with a damage ship on a later turn, not even in the beginning, he can be a life saver. He can allow Corran to get into range 1 without fear of reprisal. You can even use him as bait since players think that they have to kill him first no matter what.
I never seem to do well with Coran.
How Often do you use his pilot ability?
I think that is where I make my mistake as I use it asap, and maybe it be better off to wait for a better chance
I use it fairly often, but only under certain conditions:
1. I have a beautiful shot lined up. (enemy has no tokens, I have TL, esp. TL + Focus, range 1)
2. The target is 1-2 HP from going down.
3. I have no easy shot lined up for next turn.
Generally I won't use it on the first shot. an extra range three shot isn't great. 2nd turn of combat it is very doable to get into range 1, with a TL from last turn. So you have 2 shots, 2 TL, focus, and 8 red dice. Plus, Wedge contributing his 3 flanking TL focus dice.
After that, Corran is on clean up duty, getting into range one of another enemy and doing it again.
Keyan Farlander
PredatorKeyan take red turns and uses the stress as a focus in conjunction with Predator to be stupidly accurate.
If you move after your target, then Advanced Sensors lets you do even better by Target Locking before moving, and is useful in a variety of other situations.
Edit: Keyan + VI + Advanced Sensors is looking like a really good combo.
Edited by MajorJugglerSimilar to what some have mentioned:
Wes+VI
Wedge+Opportunist+R2
Farlander+Opportunist+AS
This list hits like a freight train and gives decent options for dealing with the incurred stress from the opportunists (Keyan wants it to spend, Wedge deals with it on the next turn with any 1 or 2 speed move on the dial).
In a completely different 3 ship approach, I've been having a lot of fun with:
Tycho+PTL+TP+Daredevil+Experimental Interface+Refit
Farlander+PTL+EU
Hobbie+R2-D6+PTL
That Tycho build is the silliest in terms of movement I've seen on the Rebellion side. Capable of 3 effective actions per turn (2, plus Daredevil) and the chain of stress tokens that follow is hilarious. Boosting Bwings are awesome and PTLing to reliably get that desired stress token every turn is great. Hobbie gets a focus+TL shot every turn and gets rid of his stress every time he shoots (spending that TL).
Will be curious to try this one:
