just give it a shot. see what expansion you could come up with that would have the least number of people up in arms.
fun experiment: a release nobody would complain about?
TIE advanced Aces.

I "liked" this, and still do... But I disagree. People would complain about "having" to buy a ship that didn't do anything.
TIE advanced Aces.
Good try, but I can still imagine a moderate amount of fanrage: "Why are you wasting my time with this expansion when Imperials STILL don't have huge ships!?"
How about a Rogue Squadron boxed set?

Still no Imperial ships.
An Imperial huge ship and another imperial huge ship with the tie advanced fix (like the rebel transport)?
announced concurrently for xmas with wave 7 which would include 2 SV ships and 1 rebel 1 imperial?
------
ACTUALLY: If i use logick, it seems that a large number of imperial huge ship fans are imperial players and also desperately want the tie advanced fix. so the number of complainers might be really small.

But they wouldn't have to buy it. Just the model. Use the token if you don't mind it.
Imperial Star Destroyer.
Oh wait, that will probably cost too much so people will complain about that and it would probably be too big so there'll be complains about that as well. At least it should avoid "the Rebels don't have any epic ships" complaint.
I'm not sure there would be many complaints about something that improved the TIE Advanced but people can complain about all kinds of things.
You will never have somebody not complaining about something. It's just not gonna' happen.

The only way to satisfy everybody is not to release anything.
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. Bill cosby said that.

Agree. I wonder what would be the MOST OFFENSIVE expansion FF could put out.
Not counting the USS Enterprise for X-wing or any of that cross franchise nonsense. What is the thing that star wars fans would not like to? My bet is Gungans.
Rogue Shadow model with Imperial and Rebel pilots/bases/dial.
Space-Faring Rancors, floating around kicking and screaming. Everyone would love them.
Imperial huge ship +Advanced combo pack

Not Gungans, just Jar Jar. Only multiple copies. A pack of five Jar Jars, but you can only use one in play at a time. That would be pretty offensive, and little Annie could be a bonus figure included just for fun.
Space slug expansion pack
C3PO/R2D2 escape pod- Now you too can run away from Imperial aggressors and get stranded on a desert world where the chief form of entertainment is shooting womp-rats...
If they offer a C3P0 escape pod, where if you overlap the Falcon, you force C3P0 to be jettisoned from the ship, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Slave Leia character pack for Imperial assault
