fun experiment: a release nobody would complain about?

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

And best of all, because this is our way of saying "Thank you" to all of our X-Wing fans, FFG is pleased to announce that the X-Wing Miniatures Game: Battle of Yavin Fan Appreciation Expansion pack is completely FREE, available to order from fantasyflightgames.com immediately."

Sorry - you could hand some people a $20 bill and they will ***** about how you folded it.

Ewok glider, of course.

On a serious note, the hinted-at TIE/adv fix will probably be well-received until people realize how incredibly broken it is.

The TIE Advanced and/or Imperial Huge ship would likely get the least hate. Both are something that a large portion of the community is wanting and waiting for. Close behind this would be Y-Wing pilots.

Anything with extra X-Wing pilots would likely not receive as favourable response because you will get people complaining that there are other things that should be updated first.

Ewok glider, of course.

Unless the highly anticipated Advanced aces pack is really just a coupon to send your tie advanced back to FFG and get your money back

Imperial huge ship +Advanced combo pack

That would certainly anger a lot of people. With all the rage over x-wing pilots and crew coming with the rebel huge ships I can't see the advanced fix being bundled with a huge as anything but a giant complaint thread.

Oh, they could add the Obi-wan rebel crew card to the imperial huge to really anger people. :-)

Nobody could possible complain about the following:

- Imperial Prototypes, with alternate TIE Advanced models (Avenger and x3 versions). Includes new pilot cards, both a new generic and several new uniques. Also includes (most imporantly) title cards. TIE Advanced x1 Production Model reduces price by 4 points. TIE Advanced x3 reduces price by 2 points and adds the Boost action. TIE Avenger costs 0 points and adds +1 Attack and a System Upgrade slot.

There would be no end of complaints about the following:

- Star Dragon, aligned with the Rebellion. It'd have a slow dial, but very agile (green 2 k-turn, etc.). No shields, 8 hull, and a new upgrade slot.

Jar Jar Binks space debris tokens that can be attacked and can be destroyed into progressively smaller pieces. All ships at range 1-2 of an undamaged Binks token receive 1 stress token at the end of the combat phase.

Duh...Galaxy Gun!

"FFG is pleased to announce the X-Wing Miniatures Game: Battle of Yavin Fan Appreciation Expansion pack.

Though this unique expansion does not come with any ship models, X-Wing players everywhere will be pleased to discover a number of exciting features, including:

• complete rules for running your own Battle of Yavin Death Star Trench run scenarios, adapted for both casual and tournament play.

• a number of never before seen Pilot cards, including 4 unique TIE-Advanced pilots and 2 TIE-Fighter pilot cards on the Imperial side, and 4 unique Y-Wing and 2 unique X-Wing Pilot cards on the rebel side.

• a host of new upgrade cards to enhance your Battle of Yavin experience, including all-new Elite Pilot Talent cards "I have you now" and the surprise "Lets blow this thing kid!"

This and the Rogue Squadron packs sound like the very best thing ever.

CANNOT COMPLAIN. GIVE IT TO ME NOW.

Jar Jar Binks space debris tokens that can be attacked and can be destroyed into progressively smaller pieces. All ships at range 1-2 of an undamaged Binks token receive 1 stress token at the end of the combat phase.

I like this... It could even be a cooperative mission for a Rebel and Imperial player!

Card packs like "Weapons of the Galaxy" which consist a few new and a few old one secondary weapons, missiles, torpedoes, maybe primary weapons as a new upgrade. Or a pilot themed pack like "The Best of the Academy" or "Droid Makers" with a lot of astromechs and other type of droids.
And of course not CG, you get every cards in every packs.

I think the small card packs can be a good option between big waves.

You will never have somebody not complaining about something. It's just not gonna' happen.

Stop trying to make not complaining not going to happen not going to happen!

Not Gungans, just Jar Jar. Only multiple copies. A pack of five Jar Jars, but you can only use one in play at a time. That would be pretty offensive, and little Annie could be a bonus figure included just for fun.

Jar Jar.

I'd like to think that FFG's reaction to the idea of a Jar Jar release would be quite similar to Tim Bisley's reaction.

Love that show so much

just give it a shot. see what expansion you could come up with that would have the least number of people up in arms.

That's easy:

Imperial Huge Ship

An extra missions pack at a reasonable price with additional tokens and book. Say in the 10-15 price range for £/$/EU

WHAT! This is ridiculous, I want new tie bomber pilots, how dare FFG are just catering to the Tie Advanced demographic and don't care about the things i specifically want, how dare they!

There were no TIE Bombers in the (movie's depiction of the) Battle of Yavin. :P

That's like complaining about there being no T-34 rules in a D-Day scenario.

Atmospheric combat pack:

ATAT for Imperial (Large base)

Snow speeder for Rebels

Cloud Car for Scum

Winner.

Scuffy looking nerf herder ships

just give it a shot. see what expansion you could come up with that would have the least number of people up in arms.

People will complain about Imperial Huge ships, either:

A) Why isn't it a Star Destroyer!

B) I'm quitting this game now they've made a Star Destroyer.

True, I thought the second option was pretty good though.

The only way to satisfy everybody is not to release anything.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. Bill cosby said that.

"Why aren't they releasing anything anymore????"
