Looking for a different way to determine inititive?

Here is what our group is doing for init. It works pretty well, especially in larger games. We also removed the victory tile that switches first player.


-Both sides roll Blue dice to determine inititive each round. Highest goes first.

-Each side continues to re-roll inititive at the start of subsequent rounds. Each player gets a bonus to their roll equal to the number of destroyed units in their destroyed unit pile.

I'd go into direction of giving the initiative to a player who passes first, or - uses less orders/actions.

I'm going to print this and show it to our game club.

I like that the losing side gets a bit of a help; if you think about it, the less units they have to coordinate with, the faster they probably will be.
