How many cheap ass z95's can 100 points fit? I am getting ready to buy into the current wave finally, and decided I just want a bang of head hunters. So how many should I buy?
How many z95's?
I have used 8, 4 Talas and 4 Bandits. I won a game with that list. Then I tried 7... Cracken with VI, Blount with ion pulse missile, and 5 bandits. I didn't do as well with that list but that was due to my bad maneuvering I think. I think the 7 ship list has potential.
Cheapest Z-95 is 12pts. So 8 in 100pts
You can fit in 8, though personally I'd stick at 6 so you can get two more from Wave 6.
Whatever number you buy, keep in mind that the scum and villany from wave 6 will add 2 Z95s to your collection (along with one Y-Wing). Keeping that in mind might give your wallet a bit of a break ![]()
Haw many can you buy and how many you should buy are two different questions.
8 x 12pt bandit would leave you 4pts.
Somebody else will have to answer the question of how many you should since I've never flown a z95 swarm.
Isnt one of the S&V z95s 11pts
so you could field nine of them?
Oh and give the flight leader a 1pt upgrade ![]()

It hasn't been revealed, but the game developers did say in an interview that they don't want to see an 11 point ship. My money is on...no.

No, and in that FFG internview the designers categorically stated they won't "break the game" with 11 point pilots.
Scum Zs just get one less pilot skill, they cost the same as the rebel ones.
We don't know if you can use the S&V dials with Rebel lists yet. You'd also may not have enough bases cards if you mix and match Most Wanted with Rebel Z's.
So if you want 8 rebel Z's, I don't think buying 4 and then 4 most wanted is going to work.
As others said, you can fit 8 into a squad.
However, 3-5 is the optimum number to have available for most squads.
3 Z95s allows you to replace 2 rookies in a classic 4 ship list (or YT+2 list) and have 6 points left over.
Chewie with 4 Z95s is quite good as a rebel mini swarm list.
And 5 Z95s is most often used with Ethan, tho I have not convinced by the squad.
I've never tried a pure Z95 swarm, I'm sure it can win some games, like the 8 tie swarm, but without a howlrunner analog, a Z95 swarm will never reach the potency of a howl swarm.
Edited by DeadwolfI have three right now and I sometimes debate a 4th but haven't taken the plunge yet. If you want your collection to support two players four would definitely be the way to go.
