He is, but he's also the player character in X-wing, and the subsequent B-wing expansion where he, surprise, acts as a test pilot for the B-wing program.
Ah its a *very* long time since i played the xwing game and then i got Tie fighter soon after and never got around to playing xwing again for some reason.
I just remember trying to find out which Y wing pilot it was survived Yavin as i thought it was Dutch but he dies and it is Farlander
(isnt he also like a force sensitive type and later a jedi in the EU?)

most of the time i wished it was 3 k or 4 k 
It takes a lot of timing for it to work, doesn't it?
Pros: Very resistant to enemy fire because of shields. 2 K-turn. 3 attack dice and four at range 1.
Cons: Only one defense dice. Dial is filled with red moves with very little green to relieve stress. Can be outmaneuvered quickly.
Required Upgrades: Advanced Sensors.
The B-Wing is one of my favorite ships in the Star Wars Galaxy (tied with the A-Wing). In X-Wing the B-Wing provides excellent attack and it sustain a lot of damage before it dies. Personally I like to fly the B-Wing with two A-Wings and something else, I just tried the HWK-290 and it worked exceptionally.
