Play Aid- Talent Cards

By Kainus, in Dark Heresy General Discussion

Hey there,

I've been working on some play aids for Dark Heresy 2nd edition, and the first of these efforts are talent cards- a quick reference for players and GMs who, like me, can't seem to accurately recall the specifics of the 80+ talents. The 40k RPG system has seen numerous iterations and talents have been gradually revised across the line, swapping intricacies in order to fit the particulars of the system. Additionally, I wanted to ensure that players wouldn't have to memorize their talents, as it is common for the specific wording of a talent to be incredibly important in its execution.

To resolve these issues, I've created talent cards (much like I've done for Ezra Kainus' Dark Heresy Living 2.3 modifications), listing the mechanical benefits of each talent.

The following document is designed to allow the reader to print them directly onto 3x5" index cards. Simply insert 84 index cards into the manual paper tray of your printer and print them. Ensure that they are printed on the blank side: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B896JcFx0XlKdUdncFllUU9xczA/edit?usp=sharing

The next document is designed to be printed on 8.5x11" paper. There are 6 talents per page and a large amount of white space separating them. I would recommend that each page be cut in half and each talent folded and glued upon itself. This will ensure that each talent card is durable enough to survive play: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B896JcFx0XlKc0NZRlF1Vm1iMGc/edit?usp=sharing

Credit goes to Mal'Garnish for the image. (I don't have any other reference information, sorry)

Also, for those interested, I'll be updating EK's talents in the same manner soon enough. I'd also like to work on a revision of the GM screen, allowing the reader to replace the various weapon charts with Social Disposition tables, quick references for the Subtlety system, and a summary of the various Critical damage charts. I'm also hoping to do Psychic Power cards eventually, but we'll see how much time I can devote to it.

Enjoy!

Thank you for this.

Can't wait to see the GM screen, I'd think the social interaction tables and subtlety will be MUCH more useful than the weapon stuff.
