I have plenty of reasons to be hostile to Kaxel. Luckily, the FFG views on collectability means that we don't have to deal with the same shenanigans the SWM community had to deal with.
There will always be expansions to the 3rd side. As of now it has the smallest range of ships.
As for YT-1300 yeah I can see scum faction but they will be at Outer Rim Smuggler stats. There could be a Lando scum (which will have the same stats as rebel Lando) he did have the Falcon before he lost it in a gamble to Han. Also what was Han flying before he won the Falcon? I can see Han scum in a shuttle with a rule (cannot be in the same squadron as Boba Fet or Greedo pilot or crew cards)

Now we have the Scum and Villany faction, but I wonder if some day FFG will give us Smugglers and Spies faction???, and that's why the YT-1300, and YT-2400 doesn't remove to Scum and Villany, greettings.
I hope so, whatever allows FFG to farm out as much ships as possible! Got plenty of room in my house that's needs to be filled.

Maybe I just do not get it. I mean the rudeness and the animosity toward the idea of a 4th faction. We were never going to have a 3rd faction. Then everybody bought a crap ton of Xwing stuff and FFG, like any company, saw dollar signs and realised they could make a lot of money, so we now have a 3rd faction. And unless no one buys the 3rd faction, which we all know will not be the case, FFG is going to make a lot of money. Then what do you think they will do? I wouldn't say a 4th faction is outside the realm of possibility. I wouldn't even say it is unlikely. In fact I would probably bet on it, because this game is awesome and we all spend lots of our money on it and will most likely continue to do so. So maybe all the naysayers who find it so unreasonable that it will happen, should take an economics class. If there is Demand, there will be Supply.
Post destruction of The Death Star, Han was officially affiliated with The Rebellion, for all intents and purposes. The dude had a huge bounty on his head, unless you've forgotten half the plot to The Empire Strikes Back.
Also, if there was a smuggler faction, we'd have to put the likes of Ace Azameen in it.
Now wouldn't it be f*cking weird for Emon and Ace to fight each other, Kaxel? Or did you not think that far ahead?
Also I am not sure how this arguement makes any sence. In the current game you can fight Han vs Chewie if two Rebel list square off. That would never happen in "real life" so I do not see how it would be "weird for Emon and Ace to fight each other" Just saying.

Well considering that smugglers toe both sides of the line, i would consider them to be under the "scum" heading.
and as for spies.... what spies? all the spies are imperial with the exception of bothans. allthough im sure some bothans sold info to the imps as well. **** shifty bothans.
also all sorts of mercenaries (ie the mandalorians) fit perfectly well in the third faction. sure three factions seems like an unbalanced number. but really in times of strife there really are only 3 key groups of players. the two opposing sides, and those who profit off of both

Well as I said before if you make it so that the 3rd faction can act as mercenaries you essentially can add 2 more factions.
- Rebel Alliance (pure Rebels)
- Rouges and Smugglers (Rebels with S&V mercenaries)
- Scum and Villainy (pure 3rd faction Scum and Villainy)
- Corporate Sector Authority (Imperials with S&V mercenaries)
- Galactic Empire (pure Imperials)
Here is a point limit chart so that the R&S and CSA will be mostly rebels or imperials. All 3rd faction pilot cards and upgrades spent on those ships will count to the mercenary point limit. S&V only cards cannot be used with R&S and CSA but R&S can use Rebel Only upgrades and CSA can use Imperial only upgrades. The mercenary point limit will be based on the overall squadron point value (which includes mercenary ships.)
Squadron point value, mercenary point limit:
less than 60 points, no more than 15 points;
60 to 74 points, no more than 20 points;
75 to 99 points, no more than 30 points;
100 points or more, no more than 40 points;
Note that this will allow a naked scum boba fet in a CSA squadron but the CSA must have 100 points so either they put a 1 point upgrade on Scum Fet and have exactly 60 points of Imperials or naked Scum Fet and 61 points of Imperials. As for those tiny CSA and R&S squadrons for small games of 60 points or less there is the obligatory scumZie-95 with enough room for a cheap missile.
Also here is a restricted list not for balance but mainly for theme. (It would just seem wired to have Boba and Han on the same team since they are practically mortal enemies.)
- S&V Boba fet pilot and crew cards cannot be in a R&S Squadron.
- S&V Lando Carlisian(when/if released) cannot be in a CSA squadron.
- S&V Hans Solo (when/if released) cannot be in a CSA Squadron, also he cannot be in a squadron that has either Boba Fet pilot or crew card or Greedo pilot or crew card.
- VT-49 Decimator cannot be in a CSA squadron (because lore-wise VT-49s were reserved for privileged Imperial officers that earn the Emperor's favor)

Smugglers and Spies should have been included in S&V. It is silly to require yet another sub faction to include them.
