Here's a link to a close up of the card

I think of all the prequel ships the Jedi star fighter is the most likely to be released due to it being the most recognisable

If you look at the top right of the card you can see the white strake on the back of the cockpit.

Okay, convinced that's a Delta 7 now.

Is the Jedi Starfighter a Rebellion era ship or strictly prequel?

Well, any prequel ship still exists come the Rebellion era. So they could make 'em but with Rebel, Imperial or Fringe pilots. However, to do that there needs to be open design space: the Delta-7's pretty much a prequel A-wing and the Alpha-3 (CW V-wing) is pretty much the TIE fighter or Scyk.

It didn't its just not enough of the picture to tell.

You can kind of see it. The droid head is definitely off to the left of a cockpit.

It could be...

I just noticed the new siggies.

Scum: 1 Firespray, 1 HWK, 2 Y-Wing's, 4 Z-95's

No, seriously. Here's the card image again: http://imgur.com/D2fUo7c

It's a SoroSuub XP-38, viewed from near ground level on the port side. That accounts for the two seats, the bubble canopy, and the blocky air intake at the rear.

It totally is. It's a land-speeder.

I don't even know how a land-speeder on a card somehow translates into "FFG is making a Jedi Starfighter!"

How many leaps of faith are required with squinty eyes for that to happen?

Think you've hit it on the head there.

Buuuuut I thought R4s were a Jedi Starfighter astromech only. And they were originally part of the ship and not removable. Right?

Precisely. That's why the Delta-7B was made.

Yes I agree it is a Jedi starfighter as to wether it will appear in xwing? Who knows! Probably not tho. Chances are they will add episode 7 ships before they add prequel ships. My guess is scum and villiany and other small releases or aces packs will make up next years sales to buy them time for episode 7. Prequel ships IF they come will be a lot later down the pipeline IMO. Again it's any persons guess tho and they could pull a fast one.

Ah ok you are totally right case closed :)

We talked that one out just fine.

Wookieepedia reads:

Wedge Antilles would later retrieve an abandoned Delta-7 after his X-Wing crash-landed on Geonosis sometime after the Battle of Hoth in the Second Battle of Geonosis during the Galactic Civil War. As he needed a way to escape the planet after being attacked by a Republic gunship, the exterior was relatively undamaged, and his R5 unit repowered it. Afterwards, he utilized its Void-7 seismic charges to destroy two Storm Commando-owned Imperial Escort Carriers, and also eliminating several squadrons of TIE/sa bombers, TIE/IN interceptors, and TIE/LN starfighters before promptly retreating alongside the Rebels via a hyperspace ring. It was later stored in a starfighter hangar.[5]

The design of the Delta-7 later evolved into the R-22 Spearhead and the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor of the Galactic Civil War.

I doubt FFG would introduce a ship based on a storyline of one Rebel retrieving one old abandoned ship.

You never know. A cash cow like Star Wars needs to be milked on the regular. You KNOW the fan boys are going to get what they want eventually, right?

Episode VII is coming out next spring. My money is on them focusing on those ships.
