As I have mentioned in a few other topics, I have been making X-Wing Miniatures Campaign for my gaming group and I wanted to share my ideas for storylines/timelines with all of you and get some feedback. Please note that since the Legends EU has been cut out, I have decided to make up the story from scratch, but draw influence from the old EU in making these campaigns. Also, the plan is to have each campaign last 6 to 10 missions.
Campaign 1: "A Growing Hope" (Rebels)
While setting up their hidden base in the Yavin System, Rebel forces discover a new threat that can spell certain doom for all those who oppose the Empire, The Death Star. While they are still not strong enough to take on the Empire head-on, they will stop at nothing to find out the weakness of this new weapon and stop it once and for all.
(This will follow the Rebel Pilots as they partake in Operation: Skyhook, the capture of the Tantive IV, and ultimately the Battle of Yavin.)
Campaign 2: "Power of the Empire" (Imps)
The Empire is in danger of losing support from many systems due to the defeat at The Battle of Yavin. To help keep these systems in line, Imperial forces move to strike back at the Rebels still on Yavin 4. However, the rebels are proving to be elusive and their support is growing by the minute.
(Follows Imperial pilots as they deal with the aftermath of Yavin and the hunt for their new base. Missions include the counterattack on Yavin, stopping a revolt on a once loyal Imperial system, and ends with the hunt of and battle on Hoth)
Campaign 3: "Paladin of the Alliance" (Rebels)
As the Alliance flees the destruction of their base on Hoth, the Mon Calamari Cruiser "Paladin" has discover a weakness at one of the Empire's Star Destroyer Shipyards. However, Rebel pilots must ensure the Cruiser survives a massive onslaught of Imperial attacks or risk losing a great opportunity to set back Imperial production.
(Follows Rebel pilots during the aftermath of Hoth, the defense of the "Paladin", and the preparation and attack of an Imperial Shipyard)
Campaign 4: "Turncoat" (Imps)
In the wake of the loss of a key Imperial Shipyard, the Emperor has demanded results in the campaign against the Rebels, but as the Empire's forces close in on a key outpost used by the Alliance, a traitor reveals himself.
(Follows Imperial pilots as they team up with Lord Vader himself to hunt down and capture an Imperial traitor. For those who played the old TIE Fighter game in the 90's, this campaign will draw heavily on the missions against Admiral Harkov)
Campaign 5: "Arms Race" (Rebels)
While tough and reliable, the Y-Wing is beginning to show it's age. Slayn & Korpil Manufacturing has an answer, the B-Wing Starfighter. While early missions show the potential of this new fighter, the Rebels soon discover that the Empire is also making a stealthy new upgrade to their Starfighter fleet.
(Follows Rebel pilots as the run early missions with the B-Wing and stop the production of the Empire's new TIE Phantom)
Campaign 6: "Defenders of the Empire" (Imps)
The loss of the TIE Phantom R&D plant has deprived the Imperials of one of their new weapons. Luckily, the production of another new fighter has been left untouched, the TIE Defender. Meanwhile, the Emperor has come up with a plan that could end the Alliance once and for all.
(Follows Imperial pilots as they escort the TIE Defender prototypes to Coruscant to be personally inspected by the Emperor. Then, as they use the TIE Defender to plant the seeds of a trap at Endor)
Campaign 7: "The Beginning of the End" (Rebels)
The Empire has seemingly made a critical error and the location of the 2nd Death Star has been discovered. As Alliance ships begin to muster, they set their sights on a massive assault above a small forest moon known as Endor.
(Follows Rebel pilots during the lead up to the Battle of Endor and ends with the 3-part Battle of Endor. Part 1 will be defending against the Imperial's trap, part 2 will be engaging the Star Destroyers, and part 3 will be the attack on and in the 2nd Death Star)
I know it will be difficult to complete all 7 campaigns, but we'll see. I also have an RPG like leveling-up system for the players and I'll post that up when I'm finally happy with it, lol. But for now, what do you guys and gals think?
