I wonder whether Glorfindel may be a hero in the lost realm? tactics maybe... That would be cool
The anouncement article said that the other hero will also be Dunadan, most likely Halbarad. Also, why did you choose the Treason fo Saruman thread to post this?
In the Angmar awakend cycle we might see 2 new versions of the twins.
They were rangers who joined the dunadan often.
Then You could mix & match between both versions.
Much rather see those then Glorfindel...
I think I'd prefer ally versions of them, but who knows! New hero versions would be cool.
And yes, you can mix & match... Hopefully they start developing two-sphere decks with specific sphere pairings with specific abilities and such, a la MTG guilds. That's something I've been waiting for a long while.
Would love to see hero Gildor and new versions of Elladan and Elrohir in the lost realm.
Would like a hero Arwen, hero Halbarad, hero leader of the Woses, hero Saruman,... hero Everybody! ![]()
Also I would like to see Woses allies or maybe even Dunland allies.
I'm really hoping for a Gollum hero in the second part of the Two Towers Saga Expansions.
Would be thematic, so we can have the three companions together: Sam, Frodo and Smeagol.
Probably ia should be Smeagol. In previous Decipher tcg was 2 cards, bad card was Gollum and good card was Smeagol. So thematicly they can fight each other to represent how Gollum fight to himself inside. How FFG will do that I dont know. But maybe only objective ally or even objective hero. Who knows
Smeagol/Gollum objective/fellowship ally/hero is most probable. Smeagol hero is most awesome.
What do you guys think Shadowfax does?
Exhaust and discard Shadowfax to choose and explore a location.
Exhaust and discard Shadowfax to ready Gandalf and give him +2/+3 willpower.
Or,
After you have been delivered by an Eagle, purloined an old king his favorite treasure, attach Shadowfax to Gandalf.
Discard Shadowfax to advance to the next stage.
But without kidding, I think it should respresent something about him being the fastest horse and helping Gandalf in time of need for speed. (Travel to Minas-Tirith, Search for Erkenbrand etc..)
Yeah, I think the question is, will it relate to Asfaloth's ability at all? Because that ability is already bonkers and Shadowfax should be better but that might get into broken territory.... Having it only attach to Gandalf is obviously a strong limitation.
I'm thinking it might be some readying ability for Gandalf
I'm pretty sure they have all the Middle Earth: The Wizards cards in the design lab and consult them whenever they design a new card that existed in the previous CCG. They seem to go out of their way to be different. Eg, they picked the opposite dwarves from The Hobbit to be heroes, they picked the opposite outland characters to be heroes etc.
In ME:TW, Shadowfax was "exhaust Shadowfax to make an additional move". That doesn't really have a direct translation in LOTR:LCG, which gives them a lot of free reign. They will still try and be as different as they can.
Something unique to Gandalf is perhaps a good bet, as the old Shadowfax worked on anyone. A one shot ready seems too weak though. Perhaps it allows him to commit to the quest without e
To be honest I wish they used MECCG for examples of artwork, MECCG had beautiful bright artwork while this game's art I find a bit too dark, like literally dark visually, with a very heavy use of contrast. And sometimes reliant on the movies... Sounds geeky I know, but that's my feeling. Anyway I think Shadowfax could be after a location is explored, exhaust to make a location in the staging area the active location. Would be nice I think, plus another effect.

"Quest Action: exhaust and discard Shadowfax Then, after resolving the quest phase (including placing progress tokens if any and resolving any other quest phase effects), ready all Heroes committed to the quest and proceed to the start of the quest phase."
Effectively gives you two quest phases in a single turn.
