The first bit is easy: "The first player gains control of Aragorn. If Aragorn leaves play, the players lose the game." I think the second bit is: "Action (I'm guessing): Spend two resources from Aragorn's resource pool to (.........)." No clue. My thought is "to ready him" but that doesn't look like what is printed there. Really not sure what the last bit is, but fairly confident about the rest.
Next Saga Expansion: The Treason Of Saruman!
Grey Company just reported via FFG staff that Road Darkens is due Q4 and Treason of Saruman is due Q1 2015. That would be amazing if we actually got Treason in Q1.
And the header of the last article with 'a wizard is never late'
The irony......
Edited by NoccusAnyone starting to wonder how will they deal with Gandalf's return as Gandalf the White? I personally don't think we'll get another version, not even an ally version, but either a boon or an attachment named "The White Wizard" which has the title trait and does something cool.

Yes, that sounds reasonable, maybe a Permanent one, Gandalf was White from that moment until the end and is on the line of other Boons like the ones that give +1 stat and a trait.
I am also curious about the death of Gandalf and if that is going to be represented at Campaign Mode, highly dubious with a new Gandalf hero (killing him on the same box sounds kinda lame).
I guess we will be able to sacrifice our highest threat hero or sth similar to defeat balrog. He gives 50 victory points so killing him must be sth really horrible.
Another version of Aragorn? I konw that I'm in the minority here, but what the hell? What will be next? A deluxe expansion focused around Aragorn? His sword, bow, armour, boots, pants, socks and underwear as attachments?

I would run Aragorn's socks x3 (can never have too many socks)
Underwear. Exhaust to wedgy.
So FFG is now saying it will be over a year from Black Riders to Road Darkens.
A year. You are f-ing kidding me.
I got into this game to play the LOTR storyline and feel like FFG is dripping out the attendant saga expansions so that people like me will buy all of the non-storyline expansion they pump out in between. In response I have decided to boycott the Ring-Maker cycle and encourage others to join me while using the message board to encourage FFG to finish the saga expansions and only then return to Lost Realm and the like. (FYI two of my friends have held off purchasing Ring-Maker as well).
That said, with the unveiling of Treason of Saruman I am hopeful, perhaps naively so, that FFG will actually get them out at a merely dawdling rate (2/year) rather than that of a snail-bogged-down-in-January-molasses. If that miraculously turns out to be the case I may end my boycott.
Did I mention a year?
Edited by PacificusI hear where your coming from, but you and your buddies are missing out, the first 2 Ring-maker scenarios are really, really good.
I hear you, but honestly your "boycott" plan won't help at all. People have said over the years that they enjoy the ffg-made quests as much as the saga ones, sometimes even better, so it's not like most people are like you in that they want to see the original storyline finished before the invented quests. That said, I totally agree with you in that this game develops way too slowly. Insanely slowly.
Man, we have all this great stuff announced and it only takes one day for people to start complaining again...
That's disappointing.
The game's original purpose was to live out adventures in Middle-Earth a few years before the events of the books. To boycott such a niche product is therefore not only pointless and detrimental to the enjoyment of the game, but also misses the point of what the product represents. Also boycotting will almost surely not speed up the production circle in FFG.

Wow seriously? Stop playing this game and get off the forums. This game was never ever created solely so you could play the storyline. In face it was a fair while till saga boxes came out and the game was in fact originally it's own stories and quests and we didn't even know that there would be quests that follow the lotr narrative. Ring maker cycle is goddamn amazing so far, both quests and player cards and the upcoming nightmare decks look amazing as well. Seriously if you just wanna play the saga quests that's your decisionn but don't come on here amidst a rich community that love this game and act all high and mighty and not only try to state its a fact that only saga quests are worth making or playing but also trying to get people to boycott the company.
Edited by PsychoRockaIs always there some kind if weird peopleā¦. Anyway good shot, you make everyone have fun for a seconds at least!

More like each sock will be a separate card, so Aragorn's left sock x3 and Aragorn's right sock x3. If you have them both equipped, you'll get some kind of bonus akin to Elladan+Elrohir. ![]()
About the boycott (it is ugly, a lot, erm), i think even if all community of ffg do it, the game wouldn't has economic problems and it will continue as nothing happens.
I refer we think sometimes we can modificate the plan of developers with our comments, and, in fact, i think they don't read this forum.
And seriously, without this forum the game wouldn't feel any economic crack. What do you think?
Edited by MndelaThey do read this forum, they stated that several times. But here, on forums, we are a minority of all that buy this product.
I am 100% with PsychoRocka, this game was a designed as a playground with the framework of Middle-Earth. Of course, being respectful with Tolkien's work.
Caleb and Matt said on some interviews (GenCon 2013 and 2014 IIRC) that they wanted to revisit the moments of the books (hence the Saga Expansions), but they are also centered in designing new and fresh content, outside the canon books.
And boy they are awesome the non-canon cycles!
Edited by JekzerI always like the idea of this game about to make their own cycle in middle earth. There is so many gamed based on Frodo story already.
So saga expansion idea is really good. You can join or not is up to you. Im sick about Frodo story but they make it so good, playr cards as well so I cannot resist!
Yes, more new regions to explore, this I needs to my campaign
How do you think whence this time will begin to adventure - Bree, Rivendell?

I've spent the last year and a half on the Hall of Beorn. Ian has spent even more time on Tales from the Cards. Derek and Matthew have joined us to form the Grey Company Podcast. Matthew and Mitch spent hours on the Progression series. Cardboard of the Rings, Master of Lore, so many more people have all dedicated time to supporting this game. Together all of these passionate individuals give freely of their time, money, and creative energy. Not only do none of us get paid, but we spend money out of our own pockets for online hosting, contests, listener swag, etc. etc. etc. I say this not to complain, but you need to understand the community that you are addressing. I am so happy to be part of one of the best game communities I've ever seen. I have met lifelong friends thanks to this game, and as someone who loves Tolkien, card games, and strategy, this is the perfect game for me.
So, here's the point. Shut up with your boycott nonsense. It is a giant slap in the face to everyone who designs this game, and the wonderful community dedicated to supporting it. Even though I am vehemently against censorship, I would absolutely not hold it against FFG for removing your worthless comment from this forum. Try contributing say 100 meaningful, insightful, constructive comments that are actually worth reading before you come into our community and take a giant smelly dump. As someone who has spent hundreds of hours of my own time here and on other forums, I have no problem asking you to prove yourself worthy of an audience before you raise your voice in such a disrespectful manner. Remember, in the case of Caleb and Matt, and others at FFG, this game is their livelihood. It takes a special kind of Orc to mess with someone else's way of life so flippantly.
Edited by danpoageLolz, why even take this "boycott" seriously? No one gonna do this.
I'm wondering if this boycottguy even bought a Core Set. Because it states that the game takes place during the 17 years between the Hobbit and the LOTR. So the Saga Expasions weren't even originally planned...
Beorn is getting angry ^^. Run you fools!
Avoiding this silly boycott business and getting back to the saga expansion itself, it'll be cool to see how they end up making the mechanics of there 3rd quest in this box since, correct me if I'm wrong because I don't have a copy of two towers around me to check, but didn't the assault on Isengard happen "off-screen" (like didn't Gandalf and company show up and orthanic was already sacked). I can see the quest utilizing ent objective allies to some capacity . Suppose I shouldn't get ahead of myself with projecting these quests tho since we haven't even gotten the official quest run down for road darkens yet
