Game Table

I definitely like the second design better. I also agree with other posts that you might consider making the play surface 3 x 6.5 or 3 x7 to allow side by side games that are separated a bit. Very shallow groves to mark the split would be nice.

What kind of top are you thinking? felt or a glued down art print?

Ok here is a 7x4’ design with a 3x6’ play area. The table top will be black felt.

Might I suggest a dropping playing field 6 or 8 inches below the shelf something on the lines of this

I kind of like his approach. That geek chic table looks cool i guess but i feel like having the play area elevated slightly is preferable to having it sunk in. The walls might interfere with placing things. I know the idea is that you can easily cover this without disturbing the play area but i wonder how well it works in person.

I like the subliminal ploy of putting a girl in the pictures.

Trying to make us all think he has a girl.

Nice one.

Although in saying that you can see how she started off with no jacket and facing towards the OP and now she has her jacket on and is leaving.

Jeez,.

Even virtual girls are not hanging around.

I dunno, I've never really liked the concept of having to reach down into the table in order to play. It's what they use on the tabletop videos and it just looks uncomfortable for longer sessions.

WOW that looks very nice but the side walls would interfere with the placement or range or movement templates. Man that’s a nice table though!

Unless of course you made the sunken table area deep enough you could cover it with ships still in position? Then you have a handy way of putting an interrupted game away! Especially if you magnetise bases so ships don't move around!
