...it seems to resemble the Cardan-class space station from Staw Wars: Empire at War...

No, but it's extremely similar. Seems to be a mix of the Cardan and the SWG (unused) space station.
Well that station kind of was in SWG, in the old days. It was in the game briefly when you made a new character it's were everyone started out at in the beginning.
