Experimental Interface and the rest

One of the attention grabbers from today's update is:

The full article is discussed here and Vorpal Sword has a specific thread on Experimental Interface and Expose here. I'd like to use this topic for the rest of possible interactions.

EI will work with:

R2-F2

R5-D8

R7-T1

Proximity Mines

Fleet Officer

Lando Calrissian (crew)

Saboteur

Daredevil

Expert Handling

Expose

Marksmanship

Squad Leader

Biggs with R2-F2 has been suggested, so that's one.

Proximity Mines are now basically free to drop while still allowing your bomber, firespray or Decimator to target lock or otherwise be more productive?

Jek Porkins with R5-D8 may see some good use now.

Squad Leader also interests me--Fleet Officer would, too, but using it with EI would result in double stress.

Squad Leader + EI works a lot like PTL would on the recipient of the action, except that the stress cost goes to a different ship, and the recipient's EPT slot is still open.

If you're very gimmicky, you might even have Airen hand out an action in combat to a ship with Squad Leader and EI to pass an action and keep one for himself.

Another way to use this would be to include a "Wingman" to take the stress away as well. Also, would this work on a Huge ship as well, I don't remember for sure, but aren't cards like "Slicer Tools" "ACTION:" cards as well?

Huge ships can only take modifications that specifically say so, at the moment that's only the Combat Retrofit which is Transport limited.

Can't wait to try this with Kath Scarlet with a Gunner and Marksmanship. Two attacks, potentially passing out a stress token, and still getting to Evade.

I knew there had to be a reason no one was talking about Huge ships with this card. I have only played a few epic games so far, and have only used my transport as a ship once (it has been used as an obstacle a couple times).

Am I missing something, or is that not reliably 3 actions a turn? And with DD he can turn 225 degrees in one round and still focus or evade.

No, you're not missing something. It might also have some fun interactions with Jake.

This I don't see as much, mainly because, I don't see Gunner and Marksmanship really working together.

Experimental Interface also allows you to free up Soontir's EPT, which until now has been effectively ocked into PtL. The Interceptor is a great ship for EI, since you can get two mods with Royal Guard TIE.

I almost cringe to think it, but Marksmanship or even (gasp) Expose on Soontir with EI doesn't look half bad.

Jake would be fun once, but would have difficulty clearing all the stress, and that combo is going to create a LOT of stress.

That's why Expose has its own thread because with every new upgrade people look at Expose and think 'maybe...' and now it seems like it might actually come true.

It's one of the game's classic combos going back to the Han Shoots First builds. It modifies both Gunner attacks, with a good chance of Kath dishing a stress token if the first attack is dodged.

Yeah, it just never works for me, dicewise. :P. It's one of those things.

Wingman is starting to look even better!

Experimental Interface, FCS, and Marksmanship on Corran Horn for maximum double tap damage.

I'll admit when I first read the card I thought it seemed like a lot of work for an extra action. However, I immediately wanted to look at all the availably "Action:" cards to see the possibilities.

And man, they are awesome! A lot of good ones already listed in this thread and a lot more to, ahem, experiment with, too! Loving the possibilities here!

Huge ships also can't take free actions, sadly! So no EI + Squad Leader in Epic for Huge ship boosting...

How about R7-T1 and EI?

I'm liking it on some of the heavy high PS hitters like Corran and Wedge; use R7-T1 to get in close and/or arc dodge, get a target lock, and then focus on top of it all.

One Possibility

The Hornicane: Corran Horn w/ R7-T1, Outmaneuver, and EI

Flank the target using barrel roll if needed, if not simply focus and use the R7 boost, get target lock using EI, and blast whatever is in front of you to smithereens.

Dutch plus Experimental Interface and R7-T1 can give you an extra set of free Target Locks.

Tycho plus test pilot, ptl, squad leader and experimental interface is kinda cool for the free action bonus.
