New YT2400 Update!

By Slugrage, in X-Wing

Experimental Interface+Expose on the Decimator is a pretty decent combo. Played it a bunch, with some success! And I always have trouble getting far enough away for Lone Wolf to trigger, if I have more than a 2 ship list.

You've been playing long with this? Since when?

This guy is a right tease!

Probably a playtester.

Just played a bunch of games this morning... Now where's our final Decimator preview FFG!!?

You mean first decimator update?

Am I the only one that thought the 360 model didn't look as good as the model in the rest of the pics?

Nope, it looked very cartoony to me.

I agree with you there, it looked really weird.

I really like the Experimental Interface with Squad Leader, although I think they made Lone Wolf just for me.

And I always have trouble getting far enough away for Lone Wolf to trigger, if I have more than a 2 ship list.

Worth noting, in this context: a Range 1-2 bubble around even a small ship has a diameter approximately half as large as a side of the play space. Accordingly, each bubble has an area of about one-fifth of the entire map; add in obstacles that further constrain your ships' navigation, and it turns out that while Lone Wolf is very good, mathematically, it actually has quite a restriction.

Ewwwww hadn't put that together. It would be even bigger on a large base ship

If only Backstabber could run Lone wolf. Someday buddy, you will get your EPT.

Backstabber is the original Lonewolf - he dont need no upgrade ;)

Lone Wolf is my favorite of these cards.... which is saying alot because many of them rock. Best thing about Lone Wolf is that I think it's going to give rise to more 2-ship builds. Falcon and Outrider shall fly as brothers!

My first thought about Lone Wolf is range 2 is pretty darn big, I don't see how it can be consistent enough. Probably can use it once maybe twice with a flanker. Maybe with EPIC you can have one ship harassing the HUGE ships...

AWESOME!

I'm slightly concerned about Lone Wolf making Falcon builds even more tanky though. With 1 agility, you now have a 60.94% chance of rolling an evade: 1 - (5/8)^2

Additional shenanigans:

  1. Call 0 with C-3P0, get 1 "free" evade.
  2. If it comes up blank, reroll it.
  3. You still have 1 evade token from Millennium Falcon

The main difference is flying the Falcon away from everything else, and having slightly lower damage output relative to Predator. Luke helps here, he will see even more play.

Flight instructor already lets you do most of that though, and leaves your EPT slot free for PTL or Predator.

Leebo (ship card) is like a reverse Maarek, heh.

Umm FAQ anyone? Maarek shoots Leebo and gets a crit. What happens? :)

Eaden Vrill with a HLC is 39 points, same as a Firespray.

You get 4 dice in primary Range 2-3 and 360 2 dice range 2-3 out of arc, 3 dice range 1.

Add 1 dice if the ship is stressed and you get 5, 3, 4. Wow.

Not how it works. I made a similar post near the top and was corrected because I didn't realize Eaden works with Primary Weapon only. He can't add a die to the HLC. So, he gets 4 dice Forward Range 1-3, and outside of arc gets 3 dice and 4 and Range 1. 5 isn't possible.

Maalek looks at 3, 'deals' one and then Leebo gets another one.

Maarek Stele resolves his ability before Leebo resolves his.

Maarek looks at 3 crits, picks one, deals it to Leebo who draws another and then picks whichever is least harmful.

Double-ninja'd

Yes, but the Fat Han / Fat Chewie build that is tearing up the meta needs those 2 crew slots for C-3P0 + Gunner/Luke.

Example build:

Chewbacca + Lone Wolf + Millennium Falcon + C-3P0 + Luke Skywalker (55)

2x Bandit Squadron Pilot (24)

Rookie Pilot (21)

Super-tanky YT-1300, plus 3 ships. It's a very common and powerful archetype. Benefit, one is now an X-wing instead of a Z-95. If you drop Luke to Gunner you can get a B-wing instead.

With all the YT news updates, maybe it will be at Gen Con....(and not the decimator) of course we still have a few days,

Also Leebo on a ship with advance sensors could be neat.

Dutch + R7-T1 + Experimental Interface

Could be pretty potent, though it's expensive. Especially after an added turret. Could keep in mind for Escalation or Epic.

Vader + Experimental Interface + Squad Leader

The Force is strong with this one, indeed.

Do an action. Now do another action. Now take a stress so your buddy can do an action!

The only downside is that you don't get to put engine upgrade on Vader, which is sort of a necessity to make him good at actually killing things, but this could be a fun setup, and it's only 34 pts...

Wedge + experimental interface + marksmanship.

Tycho + Test Pilot + experimental interface + expose + marksmanship. (Except EI only works once per round. :( )

Hmm, Maarek with the Interface and Marksmanship. The Advanced is on the rise!!!!!

I'm guessing this works, as the ship is already ASSIGNED a dial before the ion token, so it would not trigger until next turn. Generally, a ship with an ion token (or two if a large ship) IS NOT ASSIGNED a dial. Definitely seems like an interesting combo, especially on a large base.

either way this falls i think it is neat.

Pilot Leebo + Determination. Please... let me pick which Crit I want to take, then make the Pilot card go away.

Kath Scarlet + EI + Marksmanship + Gunner

Tycho

Test pilot

Refit

Experimental interface

Push the limit

Expert handling or daredevil

Am I missing something, or is that not reliably 3 actions a turn? And with DD he can turn 225 degrees in one round and still focus or evade.

I was thinking Tycho + Test Pilot + Experimental Interface + Push the Limit + Daredevil/Marksmanship. Just to see how many stress tokens I could get on him in one game.

Yeah, that seems to check out. He'll certainly pile on the stress tokens with it though. Nice.
