I have an escalation tourny at the end of the month. I was kicking around a couple of idea, and thought what kind of list can I make that uses all of the TIE variants (except Advanced, because I ran out of points). I decided to try and get the pilots to all have the same PS and I came up with the following:

• 60 pts: Rexler Brath & Capt. Jonus w/Vet Inst. (60 pts)
• 90 pts: Add Howlrunner, HLC on Rexler, Seismic & Flechettes on Jonus (89 pts)
• 120 pts: Add Echo w/Vet Inst. (120 pts)
• 150 pts: Add Royal Guard Pilot w/Vet Inst., ACD on Echo, Predator on Rexler (or Howl) (150pts)

Any thoughts, besides I should just take a swarm... ?

Plan is to group Rex, Jonus, & Howl. Use Echo as a flanker. Use RGP as either flanker or start it with the main group.

Other than that, I would expect to eventually die a horrible death at the 150 pt round to multiple mini-swarms.

One thing to look forward to is that for any player to include multiple Firesprays or YTs, or even higher PS Phantoms or Defenders, they would have to be down multiple points during the round before that addition.

I have about a week until this tourny. Any changes, or is this list just too far out there to actually be any good?

So... in the final round you will only have 5 total ships on the board without a single large-based ship??? I'm sorry to say that will not work. Just sayin'...

It is an interesting idea, but it is putting all your eggs in one basket and hoping for the best.

If you really want to keep the Defender, then keep it and stack it with as many Tie Fighters as you can. Fly around like a bat out of hell and hope the Ties keep the Defender out of harms way.

I was considering using a squad list with the same basic name. However, I was going a slightly different route. (PS. I will be attending the same event as the OP.)

60: Boba + Expert Handling + Tactician + Stealth Device + Assault Missiles (51pts)

90: Adding "Echo" w/ VI, Navigator, and ACD (89)

120: Torn between adding a Interceptor (Soonter/Carnor with PTL) or adding Howlrunner with swarm tactics and a AP

150: Add a second Interceptor as above, or A second named TIE, and a second generic TIE.
