Wraith Sqdn Custom Cards?

By ericdagamer, in X-Wing

Anyone made any custom pilot cards for the Wraiths?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again here. Lt. Kettch should be the first PS10 pilot.

I don't know anything about wraith squadron or what they fly, care to fill me in?

basically wraith is made up of half rogue squadron members.. if you read the rogue squadron books, it turns into wraith. I forgot the details but yeah.. in a nut shell..

They were the ones who also conducted special forces missions too right?

Not quite. *Spoilers* Wraith squadron was put together by Wedge after seeing how useful ground skills were in rogue squadron. Where Rogue squadron was comprised of ace pilots who had secondary skills, Wraith squadron targeted ace secondary skills who were good pilots. Janson was brought over to be the eventual leader of Wraith after Wedge returned to Rogue. No one else was previously a Rogue, and actually, they were all pretty much wash outs for one reason or another.

They ended up spending quite a bit of time flying as imperial spies, and as such flying in TIE/LN and TIE/IN. Lt. Kettisch was Wedge's call sign when he flew as an imp. He was pretending to be an Ewok flying an Interceptor.

umm no. The only Rogue Squadron members in Wraith Squadron are Wedge, and Wes. Wraith Squadron is a commando fighter group created by Wedge, for commando raids, infiltration (most famous for), reconnaissance, etc., while still being proficient flyers. He used people that had washed out, and/or had a bad record.

As I recall at the end of the second book they were officially a mixed X-wing/TIE Interceptor squad, in terms of their ship composition.

That would be correct. I just remembered, we already have a pilot from those books..... Everyone meet Tetran Cowell aka fake Soontir Fel :D

The one who flubbed his lines lmao

"Antilles, we meet at last.......... again at last"

Yes- mixed X-wing and Interceptor squad (9 and 4 at the end if I remember right), but the squadron itself disbanded as a Republic Naval unit and instead became an Intelligence unit under the command of Captain "Face" Loran.

They were a unit that started when Wedge noticed a need for commandos who could also be pilots rather than the opposite, which is what the new Rogue Squadron was. The Wraiths were tasked with infiltrating Warlord Zsinj's pirate allies by posing as the Hawkbats pirate group.

After they became an Intelligence unit Wedge, Wes, and Myn Donos transferred back to Rogue Squadron.

I did this back in October:

There might be more in the old Custom Pilot & Crew thread, although it's gone dormant.

Piggy! And that is an excellent ability for him although I think it should be a focus (after all, he helps people get kills) not an evade

We already have plenty of Rebels that pass focus. My thinking was that (and admittedly, this is Mercy Kill-era, so it's outside the scope of the game somewhat) that Piggy becomes ultra-focused on not losing squadmates post-NJO (where the body counts were so high).

along those lines why has the series ended? yeah i read the last one recently but why no rouge/wraith squadron ones before that one...

huh? They (Stackpole and Allston) wrote 9 books in the X-wing series across 3 years(wait, it was that quick? jeez...)...back in 96-99. Then they dragged the series out of retirement over 10 years later for Mercy Kill, but long story short I guess they moved on? I'm glad X-wing, Mercy Kill aside, ended as a series before the EU turned into fan-fiction of what was essentially glorified fan-fiction with the Vong stuff and everything after, but that may just be me.

I thought Allston died last year?

Oooh!! I can't wait for the first ever ewok fighter pilot card!!

Yub yub commander!!! XD

yeah was just wondering why somebody didn't take up the slack and write some new ones that take place before mercy kill/after Adumar... big time gap

Aaron Allston did pass away, yes, which does explain why he isn't writing any more X-Wing books! Michael Stackpole is still around though.

Hey Stackpole get cracking!!! or would that be Cracken??

I'm sure the lack of new X-Wing stuff is a corporate decision, but I definitely would like to see the concept/series revived under the Story Group. Especially if one of the ancillary movies is, in fact, Red/Rogue Squadron related.

would like to see it updated with newer ships as well... more talk about "E"s, stealth X ext... also personally would like to see less defections of Imperial ships.. just don't think that would have happened as often as it did in the series... could also explore the Biggs/Fel story line more....
