Alright, enough with the outrider, show us more decimator

By KILODEN, in X-Wing

the last few news feeds have been about the rebel wave 5 ship, no love for empire?

cant we alternate news between them?

I really like your sig.

Why the rush? Anticipation is half the fun.

Personally, I wouldn't mind fewer previews.

Looking like we'll get the major preview showing all or most of the cards in the... YT2400 next. But THEN, well get the Decimator. I hope.

Well technically we know what 2 of the decimator pilots do (even if we don’t have the cost of the 2nd one) and only 1 YT-2400 pilot.

We also have 2 crew and a title for the decimator, while only 1 crew 1 title and 1 EPT for the YT-2400.

So currently (unless I have missed something) we actually have more info on the Decimator.

I've got a love affair with the Decimator, so more info is quite welcome.

The look of the vt-49 kicks the estetic asses of the rebel scum.

I'm going to predict that it will have a 0 white maneuver.

But how can you ram someone with a 0 move??? ;-)

It's what the liberals call a "choice".

I can see a Red stop, but definitely NOT a white one. Otherwise it's gonna be the Falcon-Fortress thing all over again.

VT flies to middle of board.
VT sits there and never ever moves again and shoots everyone with turret.

Ultimate cheese build. I think FFG is trying to avoid that.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing some Imp stuff. Unlike 90% of this forum, I like both sides. That's right. 100% of the game, I will play.

Here we are, you and I and a few others, happy to be in the glorious 10%!

:D

It needs a 4 forward for sure. I'm also hoping for at least white 2 turns. I just hope they make it faster than the Lambda. I want to give it EU and daredevil with the pilot that likes bulldozing enemy ships. I just want something like this for the game because it is different and brutal. We will see in time I guess.

It's Arvel's time to shine! Everything coming up Arvel!

I hadn't considered that...Probably because he sees so little use, I tend to forget he exists (much like Fel's Wrath, who's significantly worse)

Good thinking.

Until Arvel gets run flat over by the Decimator and destroyed from the damage. Arvel will get a bump from aces but I still don't think he will see much play. A-wings are about maneuvering, not bumping. His ability makes little sense. Now if he would of had Tarn Mison's PS that might be different. Move into position and get your action before they bump into you. Then load up and fire, but at PS 6 he moves too late most of the time.

Well even as an Empire player, I plan on doing some nice test runs as Lando flying the YT-2400..... and some Colt 45.

Hopefully there will be a ceremonial 40 point build. Named after an RB, made famous by a gambler Baron.

Too bad no Table Top episode with Billy Dee playing the YT-2400 will ever happen.

Remember FFG saves the best for last (well at least they did with wave 4)

FFG always give us first the rebels ships, so I think it follows the way of usual, greettings.

Next one is yt again, unless they change their mind.

In our next preview, we’ll take a closer look at the YT-2400 Freighter Expansion Pack, exploring what its other pilots and upgrades add to the game. Moreover, we’ll look at its unique place in the game as the first large ship with the barrel roll in its action bar and how that may lead to new interactions with other ships, as well as the expansion’s new debris cloud obstacle tokens.

All x wing miniature game previews are awesome.

I wouldn't hold your breath. They've always seemed to do it this way. From what I see, they also tend to give more explicit tips in Rebel articles over Imperial ones.

Guess that traitorous and pitiful Rebel band needs all the help it can get. ;)

I agree that anticipation is part (not quite half) but having preview helps us anticipate. I don't enjoy thinking, "You know what wouls be cool... this game mechanic/rule that I just thought up. I wonder if FFg is thinking the exact same thing as me or read my mind and decided to put it in."

Though I have not played an epic game yet, I assume thats basically what the Tantiv does right? parks in the middle of the board and shoots in all directions?

The decimator even has a semi-huge ship ability that damages ships that it overlaps.

both ships have 0 evade dice, both have large amounts of hull and shield points, both have a lot of crew slots.

I like to think of the Decimator as a huge ship that can be played in standard.

I cant wait :)

Yeah, that ramming guy looks like he'll be loads of fun. I wonder if you could give him Dauntless (if it's a title card), then ram him into someone, then use Daredevil to ram them again. Would be kinda funny, like running someone over and then backing it up over them again. That would be pretty punishing against ships that rely on their agility like E-Wings and A-Wings, and even worse against other TIEs and Interceptors.

I'm going to predict that it will have a 0 white maneuver.

I'm going to predict that a 0 white will never exist in this game. Ever. No move, and no way to block actions? No.

They're not stupid, they realize a parked ship with a turret would be an absolutely TERRIBLE addition to the game.

I won't be surprised to see a red goose egg, but no way there will be a white.
