For those of you who claim skill is everything...

By Ribann, in X-Wing

I noticed that WW never actually takes Ribann up on his challenge.

Let's just say that I've heard some very interesting and none too flattering stories about Ribann's vassal behavior. Besides, I get as much gaming action as I want in real life, with real people, at my local gaming store.

He plays on Vassal, because he would catch a beat down acting the way he does in person... plain and simple. The store I play at is owned and operated by two ex-Marines, suffice it to say... his shenanigans would not be tolerated for very long at all.

Well to be fair I played him awhile back once.

He seemed pretty decent, not like he can be on here.

I think he may just rub people the wrong way.

Also people tend to act different on the Internet, so do judge him in his personal life is not fair.

Could be the kind of guy that give you the shirt off his back, or steal your eyes right out of your sockets, w don't know, so shouldn't judge.

I think a lot of people act different on message boards because here they know they won't get a punch in the nose, and are safe at home.

Real world logic does not apply for a lot of people when in the internet

I think a lot of people act different on message boards because here they know they won't get a punch in the nose, and are safe at home.

Penny Arcade was actually out ahead of sociological research on that point, where it goes by the more polite term "toxic online disinhibition".

Regardless of how people act elsewhere, our hope and intent for these forums is to provide an active community where fans of our games can interact, exchange thoughts or ideas, and otherwise engage in friendly discussions. Apparently this is not always an accurate description of the environment here.

We appreciate the actions of all those forum members who make the effort to participate in level-headed, supportive conversation. We also greatly appreciate the patience of everyone who has stayed on these boards, in spite of the sometimes difficult environment.

To keep up with the incredible growth of active users and daily posts has been a challenge. Be aware that we have plans in motion to address these issues and improve the community over the coming months.

Best,
