I have twenty-six points leftover and originally i used two obsidian TIEs but i wanted to know what you guys thought.

Hmm I definitely feel your pain there. The Imps have a major void in the 21-26 point range.

I think a lot would depend on how you intend to use your two Defenders. Are they flankers, jousters, or tanks? Personally, I would want something annoying that could draw the opponent's attention with the remaining points, but not sure what in the Imp range fills that void. A Doomshuttle of OGP+Vader could work in that slot if you were so inclined. But I think for synergy, Jonus would fit in wonderfully here. He works well with your Defenders' HLC's, and it leaves you 4 points to kit him out as you see fit.

Just a thought, I'd probably pay the 4 points to bump them to Onyx squadron. They're clearly the meat or your list, and this gives them some benefit against Predator and cheap guns like Rookies and Blue Squadron Pilots. For the remaining 22 points you could get an Alpha Squadron Pilot with a Shield bump. That's sort of the Imperial equivalent of a Rookie Pilot, which is a common filler in Rebel squads. That would give you a cheap, close range dogfighter and a couple heavy slashers.

As ExpatSmuggler mentioned, Jonus is an obvious fill-in here, but I can't help but think he's only going to be good for a couple turns. I don't really like formation flying, though, so maybe a couple turns of those two HLCs plowing the road is still worth it. A PS 6 bomber is pretty decent in it's own right.

Put me on the Jonus bandwagon. Almost anytime I have a secondary weapon in play, I try to find room for Jonus. One of the few synergistic components available to the Imperial warmachine.

Jonus with Predator. Every ship get to reroll half their dice when attacking.

Used this team a couple of time and only lost once.

Yeah, i would use Jonus but the Bomber is actually the only ship i don't have.

I personally would opt for a Doomshuttle as mentioned (OGP + Darth Vader) or a Royal Guard with PTL. If you plan on using your Defender as flankers, go with the former. If they're going to be your tanks, the latter.

Jonus with -Wingman- and -Ion Pulse- missile upgrades.

Edit: Oops, that would be 101 points... I could have sweared that Ion Pulses were 2 cost only... Then, use Flechette torpedoes.

See phantoms had the wow factor but you can't play them with so many falcon builds around its no fun, so now the shines worn off people are seeing the defender and what it can do its only natural that the crowd would eventually see what early adopters like me did.

If you're not using/can't afford points for PTL, it's probably not. I'd actually use the 26 points to upgrade one delta to Brath with Predator and then grab Backstabber.

I personally would drop the HLC's in favour of EU's for the Onyx Defenders and add a ORS with IA, Navigator and APL.

Beeen talking about the 21-26 pt void for a good moderately meaty multi-purpose role ship for a while now. (cough tie advanced fix anyone? )

You're probably right. But it's still fun to think of mixed faction lists.

It would be interesting to see a full faction mix tourney. Marek Steel wants to fly with E'tan really badly. Captain Jonus with a squad of Z's with missiles or HLC B-wings. Tons of fun combos that nobody gets to use right now.
