An attempt to paint my second Firespray. Roughly based on Krassis.

Complete with incorrectly coloured engine glow. (1st time posting pics here, so hope this all works out)

Thanks oneway. Kept it simple by just using the Fett paintjob as the base, and just building to yellow from there. Should have a couple more repaints to post in the next couple of days....provided I am not driven mad by painting the electric blue of a cloaking effect.

Yeah, I'm still looking at that idea as well.. I also need to get back to my YT remod.. lol...

Motivation is my biggest enemy... I wanna do them but seem to just have trouble doing it...

Repainted firesprays just look so cool.

Did you wash first or paint on top? Interested in your process as I want to reaping my sprays and I've never painted anything before...

When repainting these models, there is no reason to base coat them.. they take paint very well.

You can brush over the original paint, and get a good look.

I've repainted many ships and find them a great base to work from..

Thinking of painting a Firespray imperial grey... A re-appropriated spray on the outer rims for scout work...

I use Vallejo paints. I like them and they cover well, and have great colors.

Get some good brushes, and of various sizes. You'll want some detail brushes and some to cover in broad strokes. ?

I've got a Firespeay on my table and just haven't painted it yet.. lol.. have thought of imprializing it as well.. I have a bunch of imp symbols ready to go too.. lol.. might go with Lambda white on it instead of grey... or maybe a combo.. I had been thinking of making it Kath Scarlets ship too. Hmmmm decisions, decisions...

Exactly what oneway said. Repainted straight on the original paint, just using Vallejo paints. Put a coat of hull red down first and moved up to yellow (through ochre). I have a YT that I was able to do the same thing, just adding a little difference by changing some of the panel colours. I was surprised at how well these models take paint (although the TIE panels are tricky).

Some imp symbols and haze grey I think would look AWESOME on the spray. Haven't seen it done yet, and I've seen kath done and I wanted it do something original. Glad to see my original thought wasn't so...great minds think alike I suppose.

if you can find Rodent Masterminds post of his ship repaints.. he has a phenomenal Firespray repaint.. with Imp symbol he hand paints.. lol..

I use decals, maybe tomorrow I will do some pics of my shuttles with Imp symbols and post them up, and my school bus. lol
