I don't think we'll see more.
But, I think they should ditch the term 'wave', if they're not going to put out more than 2.
And change it to... ? Iteration?
Or, 'new release'?

Because they've already had the Tantive, the Transport, Wave 4 and soon will have Rebel Aces so far this year. How many more ships do you want/can afford in one year? Seriously.
Since even if imp huge ships are previewed at the show the evidence is that they won't actually get released until the middle of next year I don't really see how that is all that relevant.
I thought the original topic was why Wave 5 only had two ships, and that so many think it should be four, all released later this year. I wasn't aware that the topic had entirely changed to suggest Imperial Huge ships later this year.

If your post was meant to be a response to the OP, then my bad, but "why do people think there will be more ships?" "Because there have already been more ships than we can afford." Doesn't really follow.
Edited by ForgottenloreOkay, we can argue the semantics of how I phrased it if you're looking for a fight. I have nothing else going on tonight.
I don't really think of them as waves. I kind of think of them as "Seasons". Imperial Aces and the Rebel Huge Ships came out with (Wave3)Season 3, Rebel aces and Wave 4 are Season 4, etc. I expect season 5 will be wave 5, the Imperial Huge Ship, and something else.
??? Not trying to be hostile, just explaining where I think the confusion came from, because there seemed to be some confusion.
Just pointing out that people tend to speculate about what they want without any grounds for it and then talk about it like its fact. I agree there is a difference from saying "I hope we get two more ships in Wave 5," and "When we see the other two ships from Wave 5."
The first is just a person having an opinion. The second is a person making an ungrounded assumption. And hey, we MAY get two more ships, we've just been given every reason to think that is not the case.

I settled on Wave 5 being only two ships but then a friend with an acquaintance who may have some knowledge said, "I'm not saying there are more then two ships in Wave 5 but have they ever done anything different?"
Has my hopes back up. ![]()
Dude, people are going to speculate and hope. Way to go starting a condescending thread to make people feel bad about using their imaginations.
Read the OP again. I was genuinely wondering if I'd missed an announcement or implication from FFG.
FFG hasn't said anything but some people just don't have good poker faces.

Quite generous with the use of again.
a friend with an acquaintance who may have some knowledge said...
So a guy know a guy who knows a guy said something that runs completely contrary to the plain statement of FFG...

By virtue of the fact that he may have inside info.. he is less trustworthy in my view .. because he is forbidden to divulge such info...
He could lose his standing to do so.. I wouldn't trust it
Has anyone even brought up the fact the Imperial Aces, Rebel Transport, Tantive IV and Rebel Aces aren't even part of a wave?
What is going on here? It's blowing my mind.
Go and watch Guardians of the Galaxy.

It is because always before waves have been 4 ships. It's also because people skim the articles and may not have noticed FFG saying 2 ships only. I know I didn't pick that up right away. (Also, selective reading works great for rulebooks, just read the rule you want to use and not those hindering rules!)
Recently there have been non-wave products (aces, big ships, etc), so even if wave 5 is only 2 ships and accepted as only 2 ships, I think most people expect some sort of non-wave products to come out. Many people have suggested Gencon for revealing empire big ships. They may be right, but I think the time between announcing and being ready for purchase would be long enough that it may end up with those coming out around wave 6. BUT something that is just a repaint of existing models ala the Aces, that should be able to be brought to market sooner.
SO...I am fully convinced Wave 5 will be 2 ships...but there will be some non-wave release as well, something that is NOT huge Impy ships. (Even though I expect huge Impy ships to be revealed at Gencon)

Maybe not, but by implying there might be more.. were it my friend, I'd have beaten it out of him.. lol
It's that 'you can't just give me that, whats the real story' moment..
Personally, I'm glad it only two ships. The latest releases have added a lot of new options, most of which haven't been explored properly yet. There are so many combinations available now, the current options need time to bed in, especially the stuff that's trying to adjust the meta.
Plus, it's less stuff to type into my squadron builder.
Yeah people are still warming to the defender and seeing its potential, phantoms were largely a no show so didn't even touch the meta in the way people expected.
Right now I don't think we need more fighters.
The phantoms certainly did affect the meta: they scared away all the swarms, the natural predator of Falcons. Now the Falcons are overbreeding.
I think we need the starwing gunboat in game as a large ship deterrent, tough ship with shields and packed with four missiles.
Havnt read the whole thread, but what about
they announce a 3rd fraction and then it will be 1 rebel, 1 imperial and 1 3rd fraction ship in future waves
with everyone on about a 3rd fraction, it will happen in the end
A bit late for a third faction, don't you think? It would be at an immediate disadvantage.
