No, this one.
This was a main character?
GONK!
I think being put off by an uplifted raccoon is odd considering the main characters of six Star Wars films are a mobile garbage bin and the robot from Metropolis.
my thoughts exactly. dont forget an eight foot walking dog and a three foot frog.
while Rocket may just look like a "stupid talking raccoon" he is actually an awesomely kickass and tragic character. dont sell Rocket short, if you can give R2-D2, Yoda, and Chewbacca a chance why not Rocket?
at least rocket didn't sound like fozzy bear!!!!!
Whoever it was that claimed they watched the IMAX version of the movie with their wife and after 10 minutes got upset that it was too Disney-esque.
I call complete shenanigans that they even saw the movie. Without any spoilers the first 10 minutes was not Disney-like.
Forgive me Joss... I liked it more than Avengers.
I was trying to see if it was a movie my parents would like and asked if they saw the avengers. Then it hit me this was just better in every way. I could see people disagreeing, both were good and this one is more odd than the avengers - in some people's opinion.
I did have some problems with the movie but most I can accept were to keep the movie from going to long.
Went to see it with my wife, and we both loved it. Great action comedy, great sountrack (cherry bomb !
). Comparing it to Bays brainless toy commercials is just wrong, hell, Bautista is better actor compared to everyone in every transformers movie ![]()

Have to agree with this. Rocket was my favorite character in the movie. The soundtrack was damned good as well.

Ever since the track list was posted online, I've been rocking it as a Spotify playlist. It's an amazing road trip album.

NO ****! The first 10 minutes are the main character having an experience that my wife had*- it was literally traumatic for her to sit and watch it. She turned to me and said something like "oh, yeah. I just had this nightmare again last night".
Then she made a terrible joke, we laughed, and enjoyed the hell out of the rest of the movie.
*Mom dying of cancer, not being abducted by aliens.
I dig that the movie can pull off the epic trolling at the end- and then troll us with the end cameo. That was a beautiful touch.
Loved the movie, wasn't quite as accurate to the comics as I may of liked but still was very good, every bit as good as the Avengers but a bit more lighthearted.
Also anyone who has an issue with Rocket... Well I think there's a lot of people out there who don't understand where he comes from and what he's about. Rocket first showed up in 1976, so he actually predates Star Wars even.
Well to be fair the movie universe and the comic universe are different entities, and some things just don't translate from comics into film.
The movies are for everyone the comics are for fans.
Saw GotG on Sunday. When I wasn't laughing, there was a smile on my face for the entirely of this film. I'm going to see it again this week some time. Hands down, best movie of the year. Incredibly entertaining. And references, and easter egg at every turn.
"Its a distraction you turd blossom".

I get that. I even expect it, since most Marvel movies actually take place in the Ultimate universe to a point. Nick Furry being played by Sam Jackson for example...
But take Drax for example, he wasn't the same as he was in the comics. Perhaps they wanted to avoid a lengthy backstory for him. Just as a fan of the GotG comic, Infinity Watch, and the Infinity Wars mini's it was clear that Drax the Destroyer wasn't the same in the movie.
Not that it really robed any enjoyment of the movie just a moment of "Well that's different but I'll go with it."

I had an issue with this as well, however Marvel changed Drax's character a few years ago in the comics to the knife wielding version he is now. I didn't like the change when it happened at the time, and it really hasn't grown on me since to be honest lol.
Edited by ZarynterkOooo oooooooooo child things are gonna get easier... "Uh what are you doing?" Instant classic lol.

Honestly, I like that the MCU is taking some of the basic story arks/characters from the 616 and the ultimate universe, and mashing them together to not only modernize some of the material, but give us something that's fresh and familiar at the same time. Now if only the fans could ban together to boycott the garbage coming from Fox and Sony and allow Marvel to bring home some their other properties. *sigh* wishful thinking.
Umm, Fox at least has turned things around with X-men. I put First Class, The Wolverine, and Days of Future Past above anything Marvel has done. I would hate for the X-men to be "marvelized".
Yup, because of how hesitant they were to use Nazi's in a WWII time period, god knows how they would handle Magneto's backstory.

If that is the basis of your reasoning... you gotta be kidding me lol. The Fox movies were an absolute bastardization of the X-Men, X-Factor, X-Force world. If Marvels lack of using the Nazis in Capn America was enough for you to write the film off, what would you call what Fox did to Deadpool in the original Wolverine movie? I hope you are arguing for the sake of arguing because Fox is horrid at making comic films and the Fantastic Four films, Daredevil, Elektra, and all of the horrific X-Men films are more than enough proof to support this lol.
Edited by ZarynterkGoTG was good, but there were definitely some spots I thought felt a little flat. If Avengers had never been a thing, my opinion of GoTG would likely be different.
I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy. Disney's newest licensed franchise. It gives me a new hope (yes, pun here) that they are going to give their latest i.p. acquisition (aka Episode 7) the props it deserve.
So no spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy, but go see it.
Just go.
Why are you reading this? Go watch Guardians of the Galaxy.
Totally agree! It was awesome to see a space adventure that wasn't super serious - it was totally more (original) Star Wars than super heroes. If you think about it, Star Wars could be described as more "super hero" than Guardians of the Galaxy, what with Jedi and all their magic force powers.
But back to Guardians of the Galaxy - one can truly say, "It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry." And it'll make you care about the characters, from Drax, to Rocket, to Groot, to Star-Lord (maaaan).
I have to say, I'd heard beforehand that the only lines Groot had were, "I am Groot", so I was skeptical about how this could work as a character that I'd care about. Wow, was I wrong! Turns out he was one of the most popular characters in the movie, for lots of reasons, from his awesome abilities to him being super funny!
Unless you're the brooding, artiste-type, who wants every comic movie to be a super-serious, Dark Knight-style affair, I think that if you give Guardians of a Galaxy a try, you will be entertained ![]()
