So, I just pre-ordered...

What about you guys? Anything on pre-order? Any pre-order horror stories?

I just buy them when they are new in stock.

I deal primarily with Miniatures Market and I have yet to have to wait more than a few days to receive my goodies.

I pre-order everything at my FLGS because they give 20% on all pre-orders.

Cant preorder at the store I use, but atleast i get a really good deal :)

Mine gives me 15%, but also has another small loyalty program.

MM had a 5x points deal a couple weeks back, so I pre ordered Rebel Aces and wave 5 then.

I just buy at the store. I also like to be able to look at the sculpt in person before buying. Based on my experience in other games, sometimes figures that look super cool only look dull in real life, and vice versa. (Sculpts are somewhat important to me.)

I've got a Rebel Aces and a YT-2400 on preorder from my FLGS...

Rebel Aces, Decimator, and the YT-2400 all on preorder at my FLGS. I can't wait to have them in hand, though I'm pretty much out of space in my Plano cases, at least for the large ships.

I've got Rebel Aces on preorder, but haven't placed an order for wave 5 yet, as the Plano 1364 won't be able to hold them (or the defender). I need for a tackle box upgrade before wave 5 hits.

Got nothing on pre-order because I'm holidaying in the US at the end of September, so might be able to pick some stuff up there for way cheaper than I'd pay in the UK :D

My FLGS charges full RRP :(

don't have a local game store so yeah i got two on pre order..

Since i started not long ago, i didn't pre order anything from wave 5 (i don't like turrets anyways), but 4 B wings now that they are getting re-released on my country :D

Pre-ordered Rebel Aces through my FLGS, sort of as an experiment to see if their pre-order pricing and delivery could compete with Amazon Prime.

I've pre-ordered past waves but I've found is that I don't get them any sooner then just stopping by my flgs the day of the release and picking up what I want. I'm. I'm not ordering 12 of anything so it always has what I need

Neither of the FLGS near me will do pre-orders, and one charges $16.99 for the small ships. So most of the time I buy from Amazon. Got the Tantive IV for 55 bucks with free shipping. Love me some Amazon.

Already have a wave 5 preorder placed with my flgs; 1 yt-2400 & 2 vt-49s (been wanting a physical model of the ship since its release in 04 with galaxies: j2l & I like that there's a spaceship proper with a sleek/streamlined design (as opposed to an offset bridge/cockpit) so that I can do my space fleet skirmish battles in standard sized games while everyone is able to get their dogfighting on). Additionally, if ffg does an early release of wave 5 at gencon, I plan to make certain to pick up 1 decimator there. (here's hoping for the eventual release of the incom x4 Gunship for use in standard size rebel lists as i've been wanting to get a physical model of that also, plus they're what I typically prefer to play)

I just buy at the store. I also like to be able to look at the sculpt in person before buying. Based on my experience in other games, sometimes figures that look super cool only look dull in real life, and vice versa. (Sculpts are somewhat important to me.)

Also you never know when you might get a ship with a weird bend or a sloppy paint job. FFG's quality control is very good, but not perfect - I've gotten a few sub-standard ships in my day.

Ordering online is great and all, but there are risks. I personally split my purchases about 60-40 between online and my FLGS.

I pre-ordered a couple of Rebel Aces recently at my FLGS just to give them some of my money. Once Wave 5 is on the boat I'll pre-order a couple of each ship at MiniMarket and spam the boards every day.

I've read this thread three times before I finally twigged on "So I just preordered the Decimator" - Mikael Hasselstein.

Given you're not a fan of using ships that (at least in your view) don't conform to Imperial Military Doctrine (ie: Wave 4, does Slave I fall into it too it being a non-Imperial vessel?), what's the rationale behind the integration of the VT-49 into the Imperial War Machine? :)

Preordered 5 rebel aces from CSI. I can't explain why. I clearly don't need that many more A's or B's...

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

I also suffer from this problem. I just have to be more sneaky as my wife will notice 5 pre orders..

What?? You're asking me to be consistent? **** you for reading and/or remembering my earlier posts!

No, Slave I really doesn't. But that's why I write a campaign engine that gives me a story in which the Bounty Hunter is quite useful. That's my next project in the development of the stories and missions of my Sharlissian Campaign. Well, that and getting the upgrades inventory worked out for after the Rebels' 'ship comes in', with necessary supplies.

I suppose that I'm seeing the Decimator as a combat command vehicle, which the Lambda really shouldn't be, as the Lambda is a VIP transport.

I can quit whenever I want!

But, until then, 3 YT-2400's and 2 VT-49's seem reasonable.
