Upcoming Imperial Crew Cards

By undyingflames, in X-Wing

So, there have been SEVERAL threads regarding what the next Imperial Huge ship will be. I'm more interested to see who will be captaining and crewing said ships. There have already been a few threads started on this topic, such as Admiral Thrawn. So my question is, what imperial crew members/pilots would you like to see released with Huge ships/small ship packed in with Huge ship/Wave 5+6?

We need Thrawn!!!!!!

And Marek Steele for a Tie Fighter, Interceptor and Defender...

And Vader for a a Defender...

A lot would depend on which ship exactly ends up being made. If Thrawn has never commanded, nor been mentioned in any SWL sources as being aboard, say, a Marauder-class corvette, and the Marauder winds up being the first Imperial Huge ship, then Thrawn shouldn't make an appearance. That said, FFG could probably get away with adding him as a Huge-ship-only Crew upgrade.

I would be quite interested in seeing if they go for ‘The Emperor’ as a crew card, not sure what it would do, possibly some sort of fear mechanic would be kinda cool, something to the effect of:

When this ship is declared the target of an attack, the attacker rolls an attack dice, on a miss or focus they may not attack this ship this turn but may choose another ship to attack instead.”

Would be kinda cool on the decimator, maybe a bit too powerful end game though haha.

Maybe the opposite of Biggs, you have to attack a different ship if able?

Other Ideas:

IG-88, Natasi Daala, Prince Xizor, Admiral Piett, Grand Moff Tarkin. How about an evil R2 unit? As far as Thrawn showing up on a Marauder, I would argue that we've never seen Isard on a Decimator, but she's included as crew for it (we're pretty sure....)

Of course, we see a number of ones in the Wave 5 expansions. I just got through putting Mara Jade and Fleet Officer up on the Wikia. Additionally, there will be an Ysanne Isard card, and another one.

There are a lot that they could do in a huge ship. Piett, Needa, Ozzel all come to mind.

Pelleaon, Piett, Daala, R2-Q2 (although people still debate if he was Rebel or Imperial but the colours are perfect).

Evil R2 unit?! We already have those! He means ones for the lawful galactic government! Stop trying to mince words you rebel scum!

Stormtrooper Boarding Party!!! Heck, FFG already has a pic for it because I think that this is theirs:Tantive_IV_Battlefront_II_promo.jpg

Absolutely agree! I'm tired of these Rebel Terrorists trying to take down our peaceful Empire!

I believe the Empire preferred R5's thanks to their effiency, and also because they have a more...unfriendly attitude

Pretty sure that other one is Moff Jerjerrod.

You know Needa will have to be some bonus for when he dies!

Whenever you spend a blue target lock token, you may discard this card and keep the TL.

A boba fett crew card would be kinda cool. Give him a cooler ability than his pilot ability

I have it! Put Needa and Vader on a Doom shuttle and when Needa dies every ship gets a free action and one stress from fear of Vader. Holy crap that would be HILARIOUS!

Nah.

When this ship is destroyed, remove all stress from one friendly ship at range 1-2.

Commander Piet: When you deal damage to your ship with the Vader (Crew) ability, replace Commander Piet with the Captain PIet card. You do not suffer the damage caused by Vader (Crew).

Captain Piet: When you deal damage to your ship using the Vader (Crew) ability, replace Captain Piet with the Admiral PIet card. You do not suffer the damage caused by Vader (Crew). Also, your ship may either gain one Focus token or lose one Stress token.

Admiral Piet: When your ship would be destroyed, discard Admiral Piet to discard all damage cards dealt by the attack.

Commander Piet is the only one with a points cost. The other two have a new symbol in place of the cost (like an arrow pointing up or something, indicating it's an upgrade card).

That's also my suspicion.

Admiral Ozzle.

When your ships collide, discard the card to allow them to move and shoot as if they hadn't.

When attacking, you may discard this upgrade card to ignore the defender's shields when resolving your next attack roll.

I like the idea of imperial astromechs as crew.

R2-Q5: When an enemy ship @ range 1-3 suffers damage NOT from an attack, assign that ship 1 stress token.

R5-J2: Once per round, if you are delt a damage card, you may take 1 stress token to perform a boost. (Not a boost action, so you can double up).

R4-I9: If an enemy would be dealt any face-up damage cards from an attack you just made, you can instead force the enemy to discard an [astro] or [crew] upgrade instead.

This. The only reason I can see for them to not release a couple of these would be if they were saving them for a Star Destroyer expansion ;)

Jerjerrod (Death Star II), Ysanne Isard (Director of Intelligence) and Mara Jade are all in the Decimator, a ship they have no connection to, especially Jerjerrod. Lando's in the Outrider. Of all the ships to package a Han Solo crew card in the Tantive IV is not the one I'd have chosen.

My bets? Ozzel, Piett, Tarkin and Palpatine. Especially Tarkin, given that perfect crew card picture in the Age of Rebellion book.

Grand Admiral Thrawn will probably follow the master tactician formula of Leia and Rieekan (discard to do something awesome). Piett could too, or he could be a buff like Jan Dodonna (perhaps he intensifies the forward firepower?)

Ozzel? Probably a negative point cost but debuffs your squad (-15 points but -1 pilot skill for the whole squad, maybe).
