Are bomber list still viable?

Marksmanship + Adv. Proton torpedoes=5 guaranteed hits and at least 1 critical. Granted that you'd have to be at range 1 or 2 in one case to use it.

... and have a Target Lock from the previous round.

But its worth it. I wouldn't use it on a cloaked phantom though.

Rhymer with Advanced Proton Torps and Push the Limit. Gonna try it out today.

It needs to be said again, Clusters Missiles on their own do less damage to an agility 1 target than Concussion Missiles unless you have a way to modify both rolls, which basically means Jonus, and you are still giving up flexibility if you take them. The general consensus is that pretty much all the earlier ordnance is overpriced, so I am of the opinion that not much more than Ion Pulse Missile and Flechette Torpedoes are worth taking currently. I am also loath to give up a ship for more ordnance, so my standby bomber list is:

4x Scimitar Squadron Pilots + Flechette Torpedoes

6 points remain for further upgrades, which I typically spend on three Seismic Charges, though Hothie recommended two charges and Squad Leader on Jonus. Failsafe sounds good, but it is one of those upgrades that loses value as you fly better, and by the time I put it on every ordnance carrier, I would rather have two Seismic Charges. The core of this list is patience, by which I mean fly to get those first round locks, even if it causes a Range 1 exchange (where you get three dice anyway). Save them for the next round. You have the HP and ships to weather a lot of fire, and a lost torpedo is only 2 points. Stress is bonus. You have enough primary dice to make a fight of it if need be, so you do not completely live or die by the secondary dice.
