Description

Nordic Championship for Fantasy Flights X-wing miniature game will be held on saturday august 9 at Grand in Uppsala, Sweden. The tournament is organized by Fantasia store in close cooperation with Starfighters Uppsala.

There are no "National" kits like Regionals and Store Championships. Nationals is likely handled by FFG's distribution partners in the specific locale, who are responsible for the awkward National tournament times. Yes the UK Nationals happened a month ago but from what I've read, if you were into X-wing and in the UK, you knew about it.

I do believe you might be off on that point: this photo is of some of the goodies for the Top 2 at the UK Nataionals:

I concur, that's what I got plus

- a double sized Han/Boba Fett ship card signed by Jeremy Bulloch on the Slave 1 side with the mention : "Congratulation 2014 Champion"

- some game loot : a Tantive and a very nice game mat.

For the game: I took a couple of pictures that will be on the blog when I get to the last game, but Ravage magazine had a reporter at the venue who filmed the final and a couple other games of the top 16, they should stream it at some point.

Any word on the Australian Nationals? I can't find any.

This is what I know so far. I believe it is floating around on one of the X-Wing Facebook groups somewhere. I would give the store a call.

Event Date: 23 Aug 14
Venue Name: Good Games Canberra
Legal expansions / waves: In accordance with FFG rules
Tournament format: Number of rounds will be based on the number of players (at least 4 rounds + 2 rounds of Championship bracket)

Date is correct, venue is still TBD. If I had to guess I would say the Legion Hall in Oakville to be able to comfortably accommodate all interested players.

Friendly bump since U.S. Nationals are less than a week away at GenCon. I pulled in the info here:

Now that Regionals is done, I will get to maintaining this thread, and consolidating all the info that is in here. So far I only have the Nationals info for:

Australia
Canada
France
Nordic
Poland
United Kingdom
United States

The information we have is quite spotty. If you have ANY information on any other Nationals, please let me know.

Edit: I also have an email out to [email protected] to try and get in contact with the tournament organizers.

Friendly bump, as a reminder that the Nordic Championships are currently going on right now!

I don't know what their attendance is, but they are doing 5 rounds of Swiss with a Final Cut to Top 8.

Awesome! Do you have the final standings after Swiss, and the elimination brackets?

Edit: I just read through all the lists. It is a pretty good mix, maybe a little Phantom heavy, but I am really interested to see how everything ranked after Swiss.

Unfortunately not as I am not there

Posting one of my Danish (I live in the southern most part of Sweden, an hour away from Denmark) mates' photos from the event. He is currently playing in the semi final.

His is playing Kath, Howl, and three TIEs.

I left a message on the Facebook page but would rather leave nothing up to fate. As long as he passes word along to the TO that we are looking for standings after Swiss, and the elimination brackets, then hopefully we can get all the info. I posted as much on their event page a couple hours ago.

Nordic results below, from the Facebook event page and above post! It's nice to see a non-Phantom / YT-1300 in the Finals, even if it didn't win. Now we just need the elimination brackets and the standings after Swiss!
