What if every ship could evade?

By AdmiralThrawn, in X-Wing

So I was looking over this image:

swx24-layout.png And if you look at the card farthest to the right on the bottom row flipped up, which looks like a mod, It appears to me as if it may grant you the evade action. ( I can't tell what the title is, maybe tactical jammer?)

This would explain the evade token in the picture (if its not a mistake like the defender), and if it is what I think it is I'm guessing it would only cost around one point if we use the falcon title as a reference. It would make sense to have a card like this in this expansion, considering the decimator's 0 agility.

So this is purely speculation, but hypothetically speaking if that card is a one point modification that grants the evade action, what do you all think the ramifications and uses of such an upgrade would be? Feel free to tell me if you read the card differently, or if you have any other ideas about it.

I think it would be quite useful on b wings, bombers, and shuttles, as well as most of the other rebel ships.

That's interesting. It could change up a lot of rebel lists for sure.

The modification text is offset to the left, meaning that it likely has some restriction afterward.

I truly feel this is a very likely the case. We see the Evade token and to my knowledge we have never gotten a token that the expansion couldn't use. I'm more interested in the new tokens that look like replacements for obstacles.

I also considered this, it might just be for large ships only. In that case it's not nearly as useful, but could still help out some shuttles, and yt 1300's in addition to the Decimator itself.

Then there's the Falcon title which does exactly that.

Thing is, if you look at anti-pursuit lasers, the "large ship only" part comes first, then "modification" off on the right side of the line.

Could it be "decimator only"?

Yes but only for the falcon, not for any other ships

Interesting... If they did that, I feel like The decimator would be ripping off the falcon a bit, with the same thing as its title and the same cost for highest skilled pilot.

True.

After checking, MF title is only one point. For some reason I was thinking it was three, which would have made this new mod quite expensive. That's not the case though.

My bad!

It looks like the name of the card is Tactical Jammer or something and the first line is Your ship.

I think another interesting question the pic presents is what is the other mod that's flipped down?

Well, judging by the art, I'd say it's...a thing.

We have a bit of a mystery on our hands here. Alas, one we have no clues to. All good things in time.

The card text is also not formatted like the falcon title. It clearly says "your ship" but the falcon title uses the phrase "your action bar" and uses the evade symbol, not the name "evade action"

Something tells me when that card is spoiled I'm just going to facepalm at how simple it is and we couldn't figure it out.

Well I was totally wrong

It happens. Not sure where you initially saw the evade there. Did you see the token and and put one and one together to get five? ;)

There's nothing wrong with speculating on stuff, but if you want to read some really wild ideas, check out the Armada threads. It seems all the rules are sorted and half the cards are explained, and we still have virtually nothing to base anything on. :)
