I think it would be cool if they had a character contest for SOUL CALIBUR 4 the way they had 1 for SHADOWAR just considering you can make characters in SOUL CALIBUR 4 anywho...

Yeah me too. Only problem being that they have the same style as already existing characters. The Shadowar contest gives us something new. Besides they've already included custom characters in UFS, Chester, Demuth, Revenant etc from Soul Cal 3 are all custom made characters from the character creation mode, and they all have different weapon styles from the established characters.
