Those repaints look awesome. Especially the TIEs.

Hahahaha! Of course they do, they're part of WAAAAGH! Ghasghkull.

Say what you will about 40k, the fluff is usually pretty darn good. The mere fact that Orks think their vehicles go faster simply because they are painted red is a great example of this lol.

Thanks guys! I thought the game could use a bit more purple. :)

And yes, the red ones get a free boost action as long as they are being piloted by Orks.

Yeah, i love 40k, especially the fluff.

And now for more Imperials to fight the scum menace of Midnight Squadron!

My Defender scored its 10th large ship kill last night, and was promptly rewarded with a field promotion and its bloodstripes:

Really happy with how these ones turned out!

That Phantom is a thing of beauty. Well done.

Thank you!

Impressive...
(You know how it goes) :D

wonderful! just pure beauty!

Thank you so much for the support everyone!

Here's the latest update! After an abysmal showing at a local tourney on Saturday, I picked up a second Firespray to paint away my sorrows. I present to you Kath Scarlet!

Later today I should have photos of my Midnight Squadron YT-1300 repaint as well. So more purple-y goodness!

Okay, i know this is off-topic but is your avatar the picture of the God-Emperor? Just wondering.

Beautiful stuff! Wish i had those skills! The only thing i could do on my own by now are those tuckboxes for Ships!

And when Midnight Squadron needs to call in heavy support, or transport something larger than the average fighter cockpit, a custom fit YT-1300 is at their beck and call!

Pretty straight forward this one, just painted over top of the existing paint job. Added the purple detail, then used Nuln Oil wash to darken the crevices and raised bits. After all of that was finished, I dry-brushed black to give the exhaust vents some proper dirtiness. All in all, I'm really satisfied with how this and the Firespray turned out!

Love the squadron idea. Wish I had the patience, or the time. But that would mean less playing time!

Those large ships are SWEET!

Thank you!

Being a paramilitary unit funded by, but not officially part of, the Rebel Alliance, Midnight Squadron doesn't always get top of the line equipment. Sometimes they have to purchase whatever they can scrape together, like some "gently used" Z-95's...

Much thanks to Veldrin for his awesome tutorial on repainting the Z-95 Headhunter! His original can be seen here:

Finished another couple of fighters this weekend. First another addition to Midnight Squadron's purple brigade:

Then something a little bit different. I am a big fan of Brian Wood's "Star Wars" comic series, and for a while now I've been wanting to repaint an X-Wing like the ones from the beginnings of Rogue Squadron:

But I've been a little too sentimental about my X-Wings, and therefore loathe to paint them. I bit the bullet this weekend and went ahead with one:

So there they are! Another E-Wing and a "stealth" X-Wing. Cheers!

I like the black X-Wing, really nice. Think you need to stealth up the R2 unit though, sticks out like a sore thumb lol.

Is that comic series an alternate version of what's depicted in the X-Wing novel series with the 'beginnings' of Rogue Squadron where they actually go rogue?

Brian Wood's comic series actually takes place between the Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Hoth. It deals a lot more with the transition from Red Squadron to Rogue Squadron. Much of the storyline is focused on the search for a new home base following the evacuation of Yavin IV.

And yeah the R2 unit is a bit shiny, but in the comics Luke never dulled down R2-D2, so I just ran with it! :)

Double post, sorry

The "Stealth-X" is what came to mind when I saw the re-paint. They were used by the Jedi during the Legacy era (almost 40 years after Yavin).

Yeah I thought about the "Stealth-X" as well, but this was directly inspired by the comic book. In that storyline they were supposed to be hunting for the Imperial mole in the Rebel fleet, so the black X-Wings were supposed to be brand new, straight from Incom and totally swept for bugs. The black paint job was really just a design choice to indicate them as an elite, black-ops type unit I think.
