I'm actually with Princezilla on this, the Assault Gunboat doesn't feel like an imperial starfighter at all (in all canon sources, they're all TIEs). For a non-TIE design, I'd much rather have the Sentinel-class landing-craft.

Most of the ships in this game don't come from canon sources. So the designers shouldn't be restricted to use only Sienar Fleet Systems TIEs for the Empire.

Also, the Sentinel-class has the same sins as the E-Wing: someone took an existing model into 3D Studio and played for first time with the Scale and Translate tools in the toolbox and called it a day.

Given that the Sentinel first appeared in the OT Special editions back in 96, it should definitely be in the game.

I still don't clearly know what is and what is not canon currently.

Is anything released by Disney today instant-canon?

Is the TIE Punisher canon?

Are the recent re-releases of old games considered still releases? And so, would the digital releases of Galactic Battlegrounds and the X-Wing Series in Steam and GOG by Disney make all ships in those games canon? Only the ships but not the storylines? None?

Anything released today as of .. what, 2012? 2013? is canon.

The HWK290 and Defender for example were in a mobile game, along with I think the decimator. That makes them canon.

The DX9 and XQ platform were in comics/annuals. They are now Canon.

Anything in any of the 9 movies is autocanon. (Not autocannon, that would be a Havoc).

Nothing from the previous 30 years of games books etc is canon. They are apocrypha. They exist as legends that may be pulled from.

It gets a bit funny with SWTOR which started before the canon reboot but is still ongoing. I'm actually confused what is and isn't canon there.

It's a shame that 100+ issues of the Marvel Star Wars comics run are not canon, as well as the multiple quality comic strips. Far more enjoyable than the prequels, for sure.

I still consider the Decimator to be an overgrown TIE design. It's got the cockpit viewport for sure! All you need is to slap those wings from the Raider on it and BAM got yourself a sweet assault TIE torpedo bomber.

The Lambda is a transport that is sometimes fitted to be a logistics ship and plays accordingly, it is not a Starfighter.

Besides that this is still pre KJA EU and so it still ok, that Quasar Fire - Class escort carrier is definantly next on our "to steal" list for our little Age of Rebellion group. The ship is really awesome. Escort carrier in general are such simple beauties most of the time.
