Not even then, as they were deployed in so limited numbers that in the greater scheme of things didn't matter.
XG-1 "Star Wing" Assault Gunboat Thread
The Defender was apparently deployed in large numbers by Imperial Warlord Shadowspawn, at least.
Perhaps the GUNBOAT should have been super limited in production, then It would definately have already been included in the game. Defender, Phantom, TAP, x1, all limited super fighters, all immortalized in plastic. (Well, I guess that theory won't hold because the Missile Boat was the rarest of all starfighters)
The main post-ANH appearance of the Advanced/x1 I can think of, was when Lando used them in Vector Prime for his "belt-running" pilot training scheme.
X1s (or ships resembling them) appeared in the Old Marvel Comics.
And there was that one poster of the DSII that showed an X1 in the battle of Endor (obviously not Vader in that one).
But there's this little game called X-wing from over 20 years ago that had some TIE Advanced ships flying around. They didn't look exactly like Vader's ship I'm ANH but hey close Enough, it was probably the X2 or something.

That is one hell of a name. "Warlord Shadowspawn".
Who was responsible for came with that one?

Shadowspawn is an alias - "Warlord" is a description.
The character has a long history in the EU - but it was Matt Stover who gave him the "Shadowspawn" alias:

Wasn't the Shadowspawn thing from Shadows of Mindor? I loved that book, it was ridiculous in the best way.
Edit: Sorry the proper title is LUKE SKYWALKER AND THE SHADOWS OF MINDOR (wish I could add THX reverb to text)

Sounds like an interesting character, shame about the godawful codenames. "Blackhole"?

I heard it.

Blame the 1980s SW newspaper comic for that one.
I remember collecting the old Return of the Jedi Marvel weeklies as a kid back in the day. I think they all ended up in the bin ![]()
I have a ROTJ annual somewhere. Had it since I was a kid. Has the chanteuse of the stars and Ellie plot arcs. as well as a plot arc about Lando Calrisian and two art pieces.

Not going to give up hope... yet.
Never gonna. Until FFG say "X-wing is finished, we won't be releasing any more expansions" hope will always remain. Even if that happens, there is mels...

From the people who brought you Talonbane Cobra ......
From the people who brought you Talonbane Cobra ......
To be fair, I like calling him "TBC".
But yes, not giving up on the Gunboat. I would buy the hell out of that ship. I'd buy enough of them to field a complete 300 point Epic squad alongside two Gozantis fully loaded with Academy TIEs.
(so, probably about four, then).
I was bored:

Also, Gosric's Gunboat is starting to look more and more tempting:

Personally I was always more partial to Mel's model.
They're both really good; Gosric's has the whole articulated wing thing going for it

So nice!!!!
Edited by Fuego EstelarWhat's even nicer? Official FFG artwork. Which will hopefully be re-used. Soon. ![]()
Have you Gun Boat guys tried out the Punisher?
I promise you'll be hugging it after a few games.
*edit: I make no promises.
