It was a pretty simple job - for the weathering I just apply a little GW Seraphim Sepia (brown ink wash) and the occasional blot of Nuln Oil (black ink wash).

I hate posting pictures because the details always look a little rough in pictures - I had to go back with the brush and hit those warheads again after seeing the tiny white speck on the left ship - but all fixed now!

As for the breach in regulations, sir, I hope we can make up for it in dead Rebels.

Be sure to report daily Rebel casualties, or this clean-up crew won't be coming to cleanse your vessels, but rather their commander.

is it sad how every single imperial list i have been making i somehow default to using 2 gunboats in it?

Decided i wanted to try a PS9 Vynder "Ion-Walker" strat to see if i can perma-ion someone off the board. Course it does little damage so i decided to bring Vessery w/ Juke, x7, and mk2 engines for some good damage, and had 30pts left over to bring another ship to spot for him (since Vynder is going to be walking his target off the board, why focus fire on it?). My brain instantly went "Well i can run a Nu w/ HLC, LB, LRS, and XG1 title for that price easily!" ..... rofl

Even in a clearly more of a joke list i still end up slapping multiple gunboats in the list....

If you are afraid you may be overdosing on gunboats and buring out, might I suggest giving a few Jack Ryans a spin?

I'M JUST AN ANALYST!- SJ Analyst, FCS, AO, AT, 32 points. Same value as an HLC Rho, easy to slot into the same lists, but flies completely different.

I really need to get some green/yellow that may pass as Imperial laser bolt and paint those cannons. And paint the other two I have, this was kinda a test to see if I wouldn't create a mess.

Nothing sad about the glorious gunboat hitting the table every day. Even if they were trash I'm sure many of us here would still run 2 per list at least. That they don't suck is a bonus.

to be frank i never actually played TIE Fighter. That was back in the days where the only games i had my brothers bought, since a lowly 10 year old isnt buying his own games. PC-game wise the only game we had that was actually any good was Diablo 1/2, Starcraft, C&C, Red Alert, and Descent 1/2. I actually dont even remember any other game of that era for the PC being any good, and never even heard of TIE Fighter until about 6 years ago.

Oh buddy. Check steam for tie fighter. (And xvt, xwing, x wing alliance, but def. Tie fighter first) They recently fixed em up to work on Windows 7,8,10

Cheap Usb hotas (ps3 conntroller one) even works. Totally worth the like $3.50CAD it cost

I never played Master of Orion when i was a kid either but got suckered into the 4X strategy when Stardrive popped up, heard it reference MoO2 so much it had me curious so i tried it out and was not displeased, despite its clearly ancient visuals lol

I think that just shows how well designed the ship is.

For me, anytime I had 26 points left over I would say "Oh, Omega Leader, easy.". But now the Gunboat takes that position.

26pts previously was Sabaac for me. Deadly enough to justify going for because he could easily snipe your butt if you werent careful, but the way i flew him generally gave him ample opportunities to juke around rocks and get away while the rest of my list had fun or have him dive in if nobody was paying attention to him. Sabaac w/ Wired/LWF/Title is nuts lol.

But yeah, now its gunboats. Gunboats, gunboats GUNBOATS! I wonder if the named pilots would be used more if they had +1 native PS (or potentially +2?) - they seem cool, but the price is clearly in the PS difference and its not enough to really mean much.

I like karsabi with HLC wired linked title. Even being locked to greens gives a fair few options for movement. It's 35 points and lrs could probably help him too.

Vynder with ptl, harpoon, aslam, os1 was crazy good fun in epic. Alongside that same karsabi, 3 nus, 3 rhos and a gozanti. I was outnumbered but they died way faster.

Decided to jump on the "classic GUNBOAT paint scheme" train. So here's my Tau Squadron Veteran, as seen in X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter!

Has anyone figured out a way to maximize the time-on-target for the gunboats? Do we have to slam, reload, TL (2-3 turns), or is there an argument for the title and/or advanced slam?

for the uber cheap Nu + LRS + 'poons, probably better off taking several turns to come around again. It lacks any real benefit normal gunboats do to try and keep in the fray after it fired once, and unlike other random missile/torp users once it fires its not going to be ignored due to Reload.

If you have the OS-1 title, you can make the argument to not spend the TL so you can attempt to 1fwd -> reload -> fire again. Odds are though on a 4die attack youre gonna need that reroll though.

Surprisingly enough, I think most of the most competitive ordnance-based builds I've seen don't use anything to help action economy. I think usually you use LRS to get a Target Lock, and then try to avoid using it when firing the Harpoons, so you only need one turn without firing to reload. SLAM is only a desperate last measure on ordnance-'boats. I guess even without K-turns, the GUNBOAT has a good enough dial to get lined up for shots without SLAMming.

I don't play alot of 100/6 but I feel like she's a bit too expensive for what she'll accomplish, I'm sure there's a few aces out here that'll just arc dodge her and gobble her up.

Gunboats dominated the Chicago Regional... but the successful (.500 or better) lists didn’t run titles, uniques, or cannons. Though I’ll admit, after playing 5 matches at a Regional against missile boats... they really slowed the game down but were fun.

Mine would probably be the Modular Launchers or Linked Ion Cannon.

XG-3 Customs or a title for bombs.

I’d do Odanan’s Imperial Reinforcements card (or whatever it was called). Having something like that would be awesome
