2 point bid at PS9, anyone?

I hope so! It's about time the best Imperial ship in the history of time and space got some screen time!

Disney executives at Gencon:

- What was that ship that made people roar in the X-Wing Wave 12 announcement?

- It is called Alpha-class Starwing.

- Nice wingspam. Let's add it to the Episode VIII.

I disagree. Tie SF elite had an EPT, and so did the TAP.

Tie Aggressor didn't, but I blame turreted Ruthlessness for that. And the Upsilon was a shuttle- we're lucky Kylo got an EPT.

Imperial ships without a generic EPT in their original release:

  1. TIE Advanced
  2. TIE Aggressor
  3. TIE Bomber
  4. TIE Defender
  5. TIE Phantom

This list doesn't include the large based ships, which have the same issue, but they only have one generic anyways, so it's kind of a different beast. All of the above have two or more generic pilots in their initial release, none of which had EPTs. The Punisher lacks an EPT entirely, for reasons. The TAP does have one, but he pays an extra point for the privilege and is overcosted as a result.

I'm not saying Rho definitely won't have one, but he's not scum, so you can't count on it. I find it's easier to be cynical and be pleasantly surprised once in a while, rather than optimistic and let down all the time.

Pablo Hidalgo was there, and he was involved with FFG's presentation. I imagine he will have taken note of the audience reaction when our five-winged saviour was announced.

I'm sure he may add the vessel to one of the Star Wars side stories.

So good it is still in service 30+ years after the fall of the Empire.

So by the end of this year we get the Gunboat in X-Wing and in a movie. This is a good time to be alive.

Are you serious or are you speculating? I feel it would be whimsical to assume screen time in SW-XIII.

Have faith, brother.

(but no, of course I'm not serious. Or am I?

I'm hoping for Han Solo: a Star Wars story. Just perfect for chasing the smuggler. If they include slam into the screen appearance, then it would be perfect for chasing the fastest ship in the galaxy.

Pretty sure it's the hyperdrive on the Falcon that's actually the fastest.

Yeah, the Falcon is depicted as being *slower* than a Star Destroyer at sublight speed.

                                     HAN
                         Here's where the fun begins!

                                     BEN
How long before you can make the
                         jump to light speed?

                                     HAN
It'll take a few moments to get the
                         coordinates from the navi-computer.

The ship begins to rock violently as lasers hit it.

                                     LUKE
Are you kidding? At the rate they're
                         gaining...

                                     HAN
                         Traveling through hyperspace isn't
                         like dusting crops, boy! Without
                         precise calculations we could fly
right through a star or bounce too
close to a supernova and that'd end
your trip real quick, wouldn't it?
				HAN
			(harried)
I saw them! I saw them!

				LEIA
		Saw what?

				HAN
		Star Destroyers, two of them,
		coming right at us.

Threepio bumps and bangs his way into the cockpit.

				THREEPIO
		Sir, sir! Might I suggest...

				HAN
			(to Leia)
Shut him up or shut him down!
			(to Chewie)
		Check the deflector shield!

Chewie barks a reply as he readjusts an overhead switch.

				HAN
Oh, great. Well, we can still
		outmaneuver them.

But somehow chases down TIE Interceptors at Endor. Strange.

ISDs seem to have excellent acceleration but poor manueverabilty.

Which is like kinda pointless. The only time the Hyperdrive’s speed comes into importance is in ANH where Han says something about losing the Imperials after being at lightspeed for a while. It’s strange tho when considering the rest of canon.

I mean, they got three giant engines on the back, plus their design is made for fear and pursuit, hence all the guns facing forward so I would make sense for them to go fast.

Guys come on. This is well trodden canon here.

When Han talks about the Falcon being fast, he’s bragging about the Kessel Run and outrunning cruisers... that’s hyperdrive.

The Falcon is, however, a very fast tramp freighter, so when in battle with support (like Endor) it can dump power to engines and run with fighters. But when caught alone in the open by fighter craft, that juice goes to shields and it’s best move is to use it’s crazy fast black market astrogation systems to plot a course and jump or just go “Fat Han” and gun them down.

Yes. I often get annoyed when people forget that it's only the fastest when it comes to HyperSpace.

We never see her guns in the movie...

The... Supremacy? Or the Finalizer. One of the two.

I tend to forget that. I find it funny it is jump to light speed, but SW ships travel far faster then light. Einsteinian wormhole, metal object approaches speed of light enters a wormhole.

Play X-Wing (PC) and shunt all power to your engines.

ISDs have massive engines, as a matter of fact, the ship is mostly engine.

If it looks like a GUNBOAT then it must be a GUNBOAT ALL HAIL THE GUNBOAT.......

Gunboat

Exactly, Han is liar and a cheat. The Falcon outruns nothing in the original trilogy, it is not a fast ship. He was just trying to land a deal for some much needed cash so he could pay off his debtors. Han even demonstrates his complete lack of knowledge with the whole parsecs thing, he's just trying to use fancy sounding space words to impress the ignorant dirt farmers looking for transport.
